That’s awesome!!! Hopefully one day my little girl will want one... she likes her little ones now but has asked for my little pony stuff and a yo-yo from Santa this year...

Today's arrivals..

20 M3 stainless rosette washers

2 more Mabuchi silver can motors

5mm Tamiya 53968 hard hex head ball connectors

Whilst around Bristol I called into Antics, first time visit. Not a huge shop but a good mix of RC cars, planes, plus static models and railway stuff.

Managed to get the TS-45 paint i wanted, and a bottle of plastic weld solvent glue. Oh, plus a set of NIP Brat wheels for £10

A little project, Trail Master QD

DPzguW1.jpg

I've seen people say they have adapted them to take a 540 motor and I can easily believe it, the gearbox and gears are massive in proportion to the truck. I'm guessing the gears are reused from another model? And happily they can have bearings fitted too.

PDIbCEB.jpg

I don't think I'll bother hacking it about for a larger motor though, I have plenty of brushless motors so a 2445 should make a good upgrade. Same diameter as the puny stock 280 but closer in length to a 540. The stock servo is perfectly hobby grade shape too, even more than the older QD monster trucks, it has ears and everything! Looks like this will be a very easy hobby conversion.

I'll swap the plastic links for threaded rod and ball joints too, the stock links only move up and down and have no sideways movement at all, I should be able to add some significant additional articulation.

A few more vintage SRB  parts + a box of spares for the Falcon which also included the part below (but I have no idea where it's meant to go, or even if it is for the Falcon?)...

Looks very much like part of a Nikko but I could be miles off. Very similar "design language" though. Could be anything from a little toy one to one of their Grasshopper/Hornet clones

well... the Hornets arrived and I must say they are in way better shape than I expected.... here's the two.

Now to start taking them apart for rebuilding and to look for unexpected surprises :)

Just a small one today, some 4mm male to 5mm female bullet adapters. Not sure why some 2s batteries come with 5mm plugs when the standard for 10th scale is 4mm, but anyway, cheap to get but a pain when you don't have them!

Very late postie just brought these!

To replace the slightly scratched set on my Jaguar XJR12

Had to buy 3 sets but only needed 1.

Other 2 back on eBay.

You didn't do anything daft, like not know they provided a pair in the lipo box? 🙄 😂

The Hi Cap dampers for my Top Force - they actually arrived a few days ago but I just picked them up from my folks.

Ordered from RCJaz for £35 plus about £5 shipping. Avoided customs charges and once they'd shipped only took 5 days to arrive. Did take 6 days from ordering until they shipped though.

Some more m2 stainless hardware for SRB builds, plus steering rod and paint of front axles.

Haha, not this time, picked up a secondhand shorty pack with about 20 cycles through it for half price, but then had to buy the adapters. Yokomo Racing Performer batteries actually have a pretty coll feature which all should adopt - the negative is 4mm and positive is 5mm, that way you can't get them wrong,as long as you set you esc up with the right bullets. Of course mine have 4mm bullets and i leave an adapter in the battery, defeats the point. Soi actually have 2 batteries that need adapters, so maybe its not all that uncommon...

These had taken a while to arrive as banggood were out of stock, i was tempted to make up a littlw adaptor with some stuff i had lying around but then realised i'm notmthat good at soldering and it would probably ruin eithee the battery, esc or both!

That's not a bad idea!

Although I've set my KF2 so one lead is longer than the other, so it won't reach the wrong polatity.

I fitted a pair of 5mm connections on the Ultima build as that's running the super shorty's with the 5mm.

A 16t pinion to see if my M03 can go any faster than on it's current 20t pinion ;p

And some gold 6mm and 9mm offset wheels to fill the arches of my F103GT Pan car bodyshell.

I got the Tamiya tyre glue helper thingy a couple of weeks ago and my god it is awesome, some aftermarket Yeah Racing on road tyres with narrow sidewalls are tricky as the centre hole gradually slides over them without holding the sidewall back to expose the bead, but on Tamiya Rally Blocks for the M Chassis and 1/10 size they are a breeze.

Found this locally for a great price. So thought it is Tamiya buggy I don’t have in the collection, so why not 😀

Why not indeed !!

Wanted a total basher for my 3yr old to play with/destroy, it was cheap but clearly the previous owner had similar ideas as myself. For some reason the receiver was super glued to the front suspension tower, gearbox casing is cracked, body mounts are missing/made out of old screws, I've seen less movement in a salsa dancers hips than in the suspension arms on this thing, rear hexes glued into the wheels (why?) that aren't even wide enough, so when the rear wheels are tightened they lock up against the hub, looks like the wheels & battery tray are actually from a Bush devil, and the replacement dampers not only don't match, but are stiffer than an overdosing Viagra addict! Other than that it great base for a project

26437453419_2a5ae10f60_b.jpg

Some of the peachier 'modifications' to it;

Looks they tried to make a centre point steering mod (10/10 for the idea, 2/10 for execution),

38157947306_768cc19119_b.jpg

Quite a clever quick release for the battery (10/10 for the idea, 6/10 for execution),

38157946716_2c2790545b_b.jpg

Rear hexes glued into the rim (why?)

38157947366_285bbbbfc5_b.jpg

Oh, also a 'full' window set for my Blitzer beetle + a big box of part worn tyres!

Mostly (if not all) Schumacher tyres, to think that years ago I gave away around 60 pairs with my CAT2000 when I sold it. Now I'm having to buy some back!

Its a total odd ball, but so nice not to have to worry about getting things 'right' on it after all of the SRB & restoration projects I've got on the go.

Yeah, get it running, drop a Kamtec lexan beetle shell on it and job done - ready to wreck in the hands of a 3yr old lol!

I hear ya!

I like to soften the thought by the fact they would be rotten by now 🤔
