I received some drivetrain bits for a DT03 build today.  Problem is that I'm not buying a DT03 now.  Oh well, at least I've got them if I change my mind.

Big box today. Thanks to @Prescient having a clear out.

A new in box TXT-2 Agrios kit :) and a set of TXT-1 wheels.

Had my eye on one of these for a while. Fortunately Prescient remembered and thought of me when he decided to make some room.

Am looking forward to the build. Won't be straightaway though, couple of other projects to finish first.

I managed to pick up a vintage thunder shot chassis with full gear housing, cups steering rods, new set of thunder shot wheels and tyres. Looks like the chassis was only run a few times as there isn't a Mark on it. Still has the plastic 'bearings. Managed to get a Thunder Dragon shell from the same seller which I'm looking forward to getting. Also got an ultrasonic cleaner to assist the process of stripping and cleaning it :)

Now I just have to sort out something to do a speed run. :D

They are not cheap are they?

I just strap an old android phone to the car with a GPS speed app, does exactly same thing

Lots of spotlights & a rust remover pen. I'm going to see if I can de-solder the LED'S from the board & run small cables to them instead as the board running across the back as it kind of ruins the looks of them (if I'm being picky).

If you keep an eye on eBay, some crop up every now and then. I got 2x 2nd hand ones for just over £40.

Received a box of batteries & junk parts which happened to include a load of Vintage F1 parts that I'm now trying to identify if anyone can assist?:

I’ve been paying this off, bit by bit for over 6 months and I paid the last instalment. The guy in my local shop was good enough to play postie, as I’ve been bed bound today.

I wanted something to reflect my character.... Big, loud and shouty! 😂

The two cars will have matching blue and white paint schemes, keeping to the Barry Sheene theme.

Sorry if this has to be moved. There is one Tamiya in it. 🤔😏

This arrived today :) I've seen them in people's build threads and thought they looked pretty handy!

😍😍

That beats wedging them in the spokes of a pile of wheels. 🤦‍♂️😂

Not exactly the postman, but I finally got the last piece on of Terra Conqueror puzzle. After months of mucking about after the first guy wrecked the plugs putting them on wrong then not being to get spares, my mate finished soldering the Speed Passion motor plugs to my ESC. Was nice to finally give the car a quick run out.

I think my Asterion has arrived.

A bigger box than I was expecting...

Any servo recommendations for the Asterion?

The manual I downloaded states a full size servo is required but everything I have read suggests using a low profile servo due to a lack of space.

Getting confused before I even start!

You are correct, there isn't much space for the depth of the servo and the servo saver - blackholesun showed it quite well...

A lower profile servo might save you some install hassle. You can use a standard size one;  but be careful with the dimensions as not all standard are equal !

I'd be tempted to go for something a bit better spec wise anyway - the bigger tyres of the Asterion are harder to turn than the XV-01 rally cars - maybe look at Allturn items at modelsport ?
