Thanks for that matešŸ‘

Items I'm looking at are £33 no bids yet!

Looks like it could get expensive 😮

Well the only upside to being stuck at home with stomach flu is that I was able to sign for the post when it arrived this morning. A set of Black Watanabe wheels to go on a Scorcher project (much better than painting a set), and a set of F1 body mounts, one of which will replace the missing mount on an F150 Ranger roll bar.

This lot plus a load of ACOMS 27mhz radio gear and vintage batteries and chargers turned up. Been looking for a GH2 for a project involving the Thunder Dragon rear end (that wasn't in the package) and when this Super G came up I couldn't resist the wheels.

Some parts which I bought from Yahoo's Japanese auction site through the 3rd party site jauce.com. First time I've used this service because I thought it was mega expensive (lots of buying fees to pay), but in this case it worked out very well as I got both items withĀ very low bids, which meant no customs charges and lower fees generally.Ā I'd been looking for the 49370 F201 Steering Arm for well over 2 years, so glad to finally have one! The other part is a set of 49363 clear blue gear case covers for the TB Evo IV, which I'll sell on.

Worth bearing in mind for those awkward and hard to find parts. Thanks

Just some 1150 bearings, nothing exciting.Ā

These are the cheapest I have found that are still reasonable quality. There are several listings for them on ebay, they work out about £1.50-1.70 for 10.

They are "NMD" branded which is a reasonably well regarded brand. I have no idea if they are factory direct or pulled out of surplus equipment but the fact that every bag of ten always has 2 that are black on one side instead of green makes me think it might somehow be the latter.

Regardless, they seem decent quality and smooth enough for general purpose use. I once tried some even cheaper metal shielded ones but the "grease" in them was literally like glue and once I cleaned and relubed them they had terrible play. These are by far the best combination of cheapness and quality I have found.

Great experience, a really nice guy!šŸ‘šŸ¼

Finally got the kit the Tamiya addiction started with so many years ago. I searched so long for a NIB Calibra. And now got a perfect finished body on top.😁

I would really like one of those Opels, that was the kit that I wish I had bought BITD to race in touring stock instead of the Kyosho spec class we ended up going for.Ā  The Opel was going to be about $200 more expensive (represents about 40hours of pumping gas!) but one friend just couldn't stretch to it.Ā  Those touring stock cars were so much faster and would have held our interest much longer.

You said, "...best combination of cheapness and quality..."Ā  I couldn't have put it better myself, as I got some of these "beans" too.Ā  I found that ball-cages inside are either plastic or metal, but they both seem to work just fine.Ā I did get one bag that had someĀ with greens on one side and metal shields on the other.Ā  Maybe these didn't meet ABEC ratings and got rejected.Ā  Even so, I think these are slightly nicer than Tamiya metal shields.Ā

I wonder why they only come in two colors...

You know what it's like with Chinese sellers, there's always about 20 different accounts that are the same people lol.

I've seen them advertised as metal shielded, rubber shielded and even "gummi" or something like that. I usually just go by the pictures.

I'll find a link for one to get you started.

These ones on Aliexpress are pretty good too. Work out about £1.70 if you use the app. Maybe not quite as free turning as the "bean" ones (I haven't done a direct comparison though) but certainly still a million miles better than plastic bearings.

[1]Ā  This is where I got my beans:Ā Ā https://www.ebay.com/itm/10pcs-685-5x11x4mm-Open-Miniature-Bearings-ball-Mini-Hand-Bearing-Spinner-/162470235664?hash=item25d3fb0e10

[2]Ā  Also, the same person sells 850 bearings forĀ $1 (for 10 & free shipping from China).Ā  Each batch had a couple of binding ones.Ā  But even if you toss out a few,Ā you still get several 850s for less than a $1.Ā Ā

A very messy Madbull which someone had cut the receiver out of so the stearing servo and on off switch have no plugs to reconnect to a new servo.....grrrrr.

The Madbull itself is in reasonable condition and I have it totally stripped already waiting on its bearing set coming (and a body, and radio gear...)

      Hi Jon,
In the linked image, I've simply moved the bar forward until it is centered directly over the rear shock tower (approx. 10.72mm) and kept the same height. Ā Is this what you had in mind?
