Bit of a result is what the postie bought me today. Been after a TA chassis for a while and wasn't really fussed which one, but I'd have preferred a TA03F. Found a BIN on Ebay for £25. The picture wasn't great, but it looked like a TA03R. Description was "TA03 with spare gear boxes". I thought, for that money I'm having that!

It arrived today, and when I first opened the box I could see, sure enough a TA03 with a couple of gearboxes, but hang on.. where does the motor go? What I'd got was a TA03 with both combinations of F and R gearboxes and the relevant other ends, but the non-motor ends were what were bolted to the tub. All I need is a 2nd TA03 tub and I can make both an F AND an R!

Have given it a strip down and in the process of a darn good clean up and regrease. Plans are a muscle car shell (likely another Cuda) for the F and some sort of mid engined shell for the R (possibly a Control Freax 6R4 Metro)

I am very pleased to say i received this little beauty in the post today. :D

It is the very Scorcher that Volksrod Built, and i am now the pround owner of.

This is a beautifully crafted scorcher, and the body is fantastic with some very cool subtle touches!. There is just a few problems with interfearance and it seems to be the motor, but he has kindly supplied it with a replacement motor to try out. So will spend some time trouble shooting and getting it running spot on!

Am widway through my own scorcher build and couldnt resist this, going to run it and use it like it was intended on our beaches here on Guernsey! Flat out :P:blink:

OMG! :D That's beautiful. (Edit: woohoo! I didn't do a 'badword'... :D)

And you're right, some of those subtle touches are wonderful, I like the work he's done to the nose cone and the inside panels on the rear.

He's painted the suspension arms too?

The front assembly is powder coated and the rear painted. The running gear is vintage scorcher and chassis is a painted modern alloy one. Very nice. If my own build comes anywhere near this one i will be a very happy man

This mornings arrival..

another TB-01 chassis, complete with servo and uprated motor - not bad for £6

so I have ordered a set of Tamiya multispoke wheels n tyres, some alloy shocks and a prepainted/printed Citreon rally body (note the spelling of Citroen !). Looking to get this one up n running quickly

One NIB TA05 at a nice 99EUR. I chose the original TA05 over the TA05 V2, as I suspect the V2 suspension arms only bring more slop into the chassis.

The TA05 will replace my trusted TA04 as a carpet racer for the coming indoor winter season. The FXX Ferrari body will go on the retired TA04 as a shelfer, and the TA05 will get the old, knocked-about racer body and wheels.

At last my scorcher P parts arrived so can now progress my project and finish the body.

TB01 dog bones too so the tb01 chassis has been stripped, cleaned and rebuilt (all in 90 minutes).

Some 55mm Yeah Racing alloy shocks (with 3 sets of springs), plus a used set of Traxxas Bandit shocks n springs.

Always amazed by how much smoother Traxxas shocks are than Tamiya/Yeah Racing/3 Racing

A new basher body for my Blitzer . per painted - god i'am lazy sometimes lol . Cheap as chips though

Get it mounted on a SRB or Blitzer chassis - i'm about to order a Kamtec shell, but i've done enough painting this month to last me a lifetime, could do with an easy option lol! The BSP one looks a bit long and narrow on paper (385mm long vs 335 for Scorcher/BB/MB and 160mm wide vs 185mm wide for SS/BB/MB). Be very interested to see how it looks, pics please !!

Well i started the MB trail buying a few parts from ebay, then realised the price and rarity of some of the other parts !! I should have a full MB arriving at the office today , so i'll be swapping out the best parts and reselling the remainder (perhaps keeping a few essential spares). Time will tell what my £38 Monster Beetle is really like ;)
