Wanted a Mini and with a new one out of the question I took a punt on an eBay auction, which the courier man delivered today 

Took it to bits and cleaned everything, quite a lot of gunk removed!

I knew it needed new wheels and tyres, wheels pictured and tyres en route. 

 

One broken front upright meant i needed a new B parts tree (ordered from Tony!).

 

Everything cleaned up lovely and is in great nick thankfully 

All original stickers and window masks are unused so the restoration rebuild gamble will live or die on whether I can strip and repaint the shell, which seems to have a LOT of black paint on it 😳 🤞

Some PS paint for my lexan Beetle shell for my Blitzer and some TS for the charity Blitzer build I'm helping out with.

Just waiting on the 2 shells to turn up now.

Also waiting on a Sports Tuned motor, steel pinion and DT02 turnbuckle set for the Blitzer...some nice updates to document in my build thread

Some new Tyres for the Bowler turned up from RCJaz. Was too quick to open them and stick them on the TT02

I played postman today

Shipped off my brand new XV01 Long Damper spec which sold within hours

Then went to collect a pre-owned XV01 which had recently been restored and had some choice bits I wanted, together with a body shell I fancied.

 

This has:

Carbon F&R shock towers 

Yeah Racing 60mm dampers

Yeah Racing universals F&R

I’ve been busy buying parts as I was fully intending to build my Long Damper Spec before seeing this come up for sale.

Lots of goodies ordered will mean it needs stripping down when they arrive so I can make it “mine”. Seller gave a quick demo before I handed over the money and I’m already impressed, this thing is super quiet!

After hearing positive things about this product it thought I'd give it a go to try and strip my GTR body. 

Worth a try considering the state of it!

A new to me Metallic Pumpkin arrived from the postman via eBay.

Complete Almost RTR. A few small issues. One of the ball links on the servo saver is sheared off and all 4 body  mounts broken.

I already have a round pack Lipo and Aluminum eBay body mounts on the way. Tonight after dinner gonna do a tear down and install ball bearings

Well, this is embarrassing.

Ordered from Banzai Hobby in early May, I had written this little parcel off. 

Of course, I’ve ordered replacements for many of these items now. New masking tape, new wheels, new pinions. Some of the replacements I only got around to ordering YESTERDAY 

Typical that this has arrived today. Unbelievable!

Is that some sort of bad reaction to the polycarbonate paint or was it deliberately painted with a ghetto camoflage wrap effect?
