No problem! Cardiff to Arizona in less than a week, that’s pretty good 👍

So I bought some 9804313 hex nuts which arrived yesterday - not at all because I lost one of the originals on my patio when I was cleaning the Durga - no of course not, and I'll vehemently refute any accusations of such!

However, despite the items being listed as being genuine with 2 - not one, but 2 - pictures of a Tamiya logo on the listing, turned out not to be, but were Gee Dee copies..... Not impressed :(

So they have been sent back and will be replaced with some proper Tamiya items from Tony.

No disrespect but that seems a bad case of ocd if your non descript nuts have to be genuine Tamiya.

I completely concur with the OCD aspect of your character assassination ;) I almost see it as a compliment :P

Honestly - I wouldn't be bothered if they weren't genuine, as long as that's what I knew them to be before I paid my money.

What I objected to was them being described as a genuine Tamiya part, Tamiya branded, and described as rare original items - only to have them arrive in completely unabashed non-Tamiya packaging.

Definitely not Tamiya!

Looks like a genuine Tamiya part, bag and sticky label (for 98xx parts) with a shops own header card added for convenience of display.

I wonder how similar the packing and parts from Tony will look...

I've ordered from Tony's, for me 7000 Miles away. Definitely genuine Tamiya - even without the "genuine" G-D packaging (aptly named isn't it?)

Post man brought this.  The XR311 kit re-released a few years ago.

Very happy , I thought that I'd waited too long and had missed out on this one.

100% this, look like genuine Tamiya to me. I saw loads of these little bags with those stickers on back when I worked in the shop!

@TurnipJF I'll let the cat out of the bag. It's an M....0....7....R.

Just waiting in a couple of bits from rcmart then I'll do a build 👌

My ‘oops I’ve bought a car’ purchase has arrived.

32C5E4D1-E313-4703-8D2C-3FF0A5BC5D4D.jpg

Any buyers remorse has evaporated, I’m quite giddy about this one. I know they are fragile and the ESC will probably blow on the first run but I think it will get some decent use by me and el kid.

EDIT: My colleagues and I just had a little blast round the underground car park at the office. Great fun! Lots of torque twist, ***** a wheel with extreme inputs. I can see why some people think they are slow as stock but it is a great starting point. Looking forward to getting it on some loose stuff.

EDIT-EDIT: *raised a wheel :D

Been a while since I bought anything from Stellamodels, but their service is still...stella(r)!

Got some final bits for my XV01, reinforced belt and aluminium steering bridge.

Also got bits to finish a TA05 ‘bitsa’ build. Not sure why I’m doing this, but had a stack of TA05 parts and more body shells than I know what to do with! Thanks @svenb for some of the other essential bits.

It's a bit rough but all original and working.

The 'fire hazard spec' battery, MSC and resistor will be going in the bin.:lol:
