Inspired by the recent success of @Tamiyastef in the latest Postal Racing and the fact that an Optima Mid financially is out of reach now I treated myself and bought this second hand, nicely hopped up XV-01. In addition to the blue bits it also has a SS BZ, HW 1060 and it also came with a Fs GT2b. It was well within the budget of the silvercan rallye build of. All I need to do is to solder on a Deans connector on the ESC and make new cables for the motor. I think I am gonna use bullet connectors, as I already have that in the parts bin.

1252MG’s and sensor wires of various lengths for future builds.  :D

Googled those servos out of curiosity as I'd not come across that number before, only one shop over here sells them. They seem to be abundant in the USA and Australia though. Nice at 7kg and 0.7sec, but not far off 1258s in price over here.

Always looking at price vs speed vs torque with Savox. 👍

Yeah, the key difference is mainly the size.  I only buy low profile for my faster cars as some struggle with standard servo size.  Low profile usually means it can fit in most (all?) chassis that use faster servos for me.  B)

Always nice to get a ‘Ready to Collect’ notification as the Parcel Depot is right next door to work.

I’ve always been curious about the HW SL combo. A spare 1060 ESC and Sensor wire. The Savox Servo is to replace what I suspect is a dodgy MG966 servo in the MK1 Escort that stuffed it’s TBLE 04.

Wow the box is small. For a second I was worried I got scammed. Waiting for the hex screws and than the not so little man will het to work.

Bearings for upcoming projects!

You may have considered this and discarded the idea, in which case ignore me, but have you thought of buying bearings in bulk rather than kits? For a one off build its a few dollars you save, but for 4 builds you would save a reasonable amount and also get spares. I buy the Yeah Racing bearings from RCMart in packs of 10 (not the cheapest but never had a bad bearing) and there are even cheaper options from aliexpress and ebay. Only pointing it out in case you hadn't thought about it before.

Finally had the wheels arrive to finish my Avante Black build. Been waiting since July (!) but all is good. Quality is as good as I'd been told. Now just need to make up some Cam-Locs using the wrong screws as the right ones are made of unobtainium.

Edit - Is there such a thing as "too bling"? Though it's not like those wheels will venture off the shelf as it has a set of running boots. I've also lost the screws, so ordered another set, hence the trial fitment of the CamLoc for now

Oh wow, I actually haven’t thought about that. I will definitely do that for next builds. Thanks for the suggestion!

This arrived today, got it for $20. No remote and no idea if it works. It has four wheel steering apparently but there is also about 2mm of travel in the shocks so don't think this would be a great runner! I actually got it to use the shell. Probably on a GF-01 as usual!

Postie dropped this off yesterday morning and from first looks it's what is probably needed on the TD4 chassis? The original super avante body does split opinion probably more people don't like than do I'm in a minority that think it's not a bad body but neither is it tamiya's finest but as l say I think this is going to look very good:wub: not sure what I'm going to do colour wise but because my wheels are white and shock springs are white aswell so I'm thinking white is going to be a contributor on the body:D!

Some Surpass stuff from Aliexpress's 1111 sale.

3100kv sensoreless combo

10.5T sensored motor (ESC will be coming from HobbyKing)

Program card for Surpass

A wrong sized servo (OK, it was cheap so...)
