Yup, a 1st gen CRX. I own a 1985 CRX Si and I was very tempted to do a mini-me build of my 1/1, but I'm going to build it as a 1983 Ballade Sports CR-X 1.5i. With steelies. In as close to Baltic Blue as I can get.

I've been wanting to do one for years. And I've fallen in love with the M05. What better time than now?

Sounds sweet. We're gonna need a build thread of that. :D

@Elbowloh Where from, how much did you pay, and have they got any left!!

Been looking for one of these like forever.

RC-specialist.nl

Cost 14.90 euros for the part, and 13 euros shipping.

If you're shopping from the UK , none of the payment options on the website work. I had to email the guy (one man band shop) and ask about it. Had to do a bank transfer (to a business account, my bank recognised the IBAN number). Took over a week for the money to turn up in his account!

Ordered on 24th December, arrived this morning.

Don't think this will help much with RC projects themselves, but am currently in the middle of insulating and lining my shed (5x2m with double glazed windows and doors) which will be my home office, bike workshop, hobby space. Also going to build a shelving unit in there for books and RC cars. This will help lighten the load.

I dunno mate, @GeeWings could've well used something like this to cut his Mario Cart chassis up!?🤔

Sounds cool you're getting a proper space sorted for your RC and other stuff, and the beauty of it is that you can go total custom on it!!

That's where I got my harder-to-find DF03 parts from back in 2019, before we officially left the EU and PayPal was still an option. It's all got too complicated since then, as you've discovered 🙄

Glad to hear it worked out in the end, and to hear that he's still going (Alfred, isn't it?)

Sorry, never got his name, but probably as his email implies his first initial is A.

The shorty Lipo for the Jugger came in.  Quick check on the charger showed good balance and storage charge.

Also, 1 meter of 6mm aluminium tube. Nice material for a rollcage. ^_^

Following fairly widespread negative feedback on Kyosho shocks, I bought some fancy Tamiya ones in the hope they may suit the Mid for running, and if they don't they can perhaps go on my DT-03. Good value I think at PJ.

I cannot possibly need any more Mid hop ups now, surely?

Also 2 whole sets FRP XV-01/2 arms, having snapped a standard one.

Annoyingly, I ordered 2.4mm and 3.2mm heat shrink, intending to use the smallest for servo/light wiring. The stuff I received is 4&5mm diameter. Have I got my measurement wrong here? Is the convention to quote the shrunk dimension?

And, L&L Ferrari Dino shell and Alpha Giulia wheels and tyres for incoming M-08R, and a couple of bits for also incoming TT-02SR.

My intention is not to start the M-08 yet. I work away and have evenings alone there, which are my perfect building time. But am at home next week. I can see willpower crumbling if kit arrives. The L&L shell looks pretty decent. Not Tamiya crisp but consistent thickness and decent detail.

Alfred, owner of RC-specialist is a nice man. I have ordered from him many times in the past and always had good communication with him (of course we are both in the same country so it is easy with payment).

Where did you find the carbon fibre chassis? Is it Tamiya or aftermarket?

This is aftermarket, I believe, as there is no Tamiya indication.. I found it on ebay from a seller in Japan.  B)    It’s good enough for me.

Today's post is for me on the exciting side of exciting.

20230120_122130

Chassis self explanatory, plus Yr shocks in case I rally the TT-02, one full set of Porsche Fuchs wheels and some wide slicks for the back, and a second set of 4x 26mm fronts as another piece of my future Porsche rally jigsaw puzzle. Most likely the rally Porsche will be XV-01 based. This because the body accommodates XV-01's big nose beautifully. I know front motor AWD is wrong but I'm not sure that side of realism is for me.

And I chucked in a lexan chassis protector for TT-02. Stones strip spurs in my B64 and even my well protected XV-01 constantly gets stones jamming its steering. I'm Gravel In RC Car Guy.

The motors are in a great condition…

And the motor brushes are also almost new/unused.

2 new extending driveshafts for the Jugger, the originals don't fit anymore due to the extended length.
