Got these this week :)

jXjBQKU.jpg

The bodyshell on top of the pile is the Chevron FSL038 LMP-70 BODY FOR TAMIYA F103RM from Banzai Hobby. Been out of stock for ages and got a notification it was available again on Jan 10th, so ordered straight away. Got here last week, I had forgotten all about it so nice surprise when it did turn up.

They are great for the price! Here's mine, had a bit of a hard life though :)

Looking forward to see what you are going to do with it.

Wow this looks great! You did an awesome job with the weathering. The rusted panels look very real!

Its arrived!

Also, no charges yet from Fed Ex. The fact its in an obviously re-used Amazon JP box may have helped?

Excited, but the hop ups from Plaza Japan only got despatched today, so it's going to have to wait.

Question is, do I stop other projects and start on this when the bits get here?

Nice! Always been intrigued by the DB01. Terrible name and bodyshell though (IMO)

Proportions look odd, like a DF-03, where you have no front bumper to speak of. I'd be knackered, since I am a specialist at driving into obstacles.

Yeah, i have the DF03 also and the nose is a bit funny. Maybe there is a bumper available?

An interior I ordered when I felt creative, truth is I mess up single colour bodyshells so its far too complicated for me, but I have one, Ill keep it with my Pilot Sport Cosworth TA01

And an Injora jig to attempt my beadlocks.

Also, the second Focus TL-01. Truth be told its not as bad as expected and I MAY have obtained the missing wing. This is going back on eBay after a tidy up as long as I get my money back Im not too fussed.

A jig for beadlocks? Any idea how that works?

They work well for RC crawlers.  It basically clamps the inner and outer wheel with enough force to squish down the tire bead to allow the tiny screws to go through both wheel halves to get enough meat on the screw thread for the "also-tiny" nut on the other side.   The star shape allows you some room to get a screw and driver in there.

Here's a link of what it looks like in action:

A couple years ago, while on a road trip/vacation, my stick remote died. I had to buy myself a Flysky FSGT2B on the go to keep running my car, but I was a bit disappointed by the trigger/wheel setup as I really wanted to stick to sticks!!

Gave it a few days, and I ended up falling in love with its simplicity and functionality. Since then it has never let me down, and today it controls my whole fleet, no exceptions.

Thought I'd get a spare one at this point 😁 so, if anything happens to my remote, I'll have another one ready to go instead of having to replace a few receivers.

This is what the postman brought today.

also-tiny" nut

I only own GPM beadlocks and they just have tiny screws at back to fix a ring to the rim. At the front the bead is clamped between a shoulder on the rim and the metal ring inside the tire. So only 8 tiny screws on the back.

Wow, they look nice!   From my experience, the bead lock clamp is not always necessary depending on how thick the bead is on the tire and then how long the screw is.  I've had some that were a breeze to assemble and others (30+ teeny tiny screws/wheel) that were God awful to put together.   Also had some that I had to redo several times to get the tire to track true on the rim.

Have fun!   I'm assuming the 30+ screws are for a metal wheel.  If so, don't forget thread locker!

Also, before you put the Canyons on, make sure you do the mod for the tires.  Makes a great tire even better.

Postie dropped my alloy wheels for my turbo optima off this morning:D first thing I’ve bought from over seas since boris decided to leave the biggest trading block so we could have blue passports! (Sorry for getting a little political there!)

My pro cat is in the background because I invested in a decent steering servo instead of the mediocre one that I built it with!

eBay, Japanese seller.

There are quite a few on there, but the prices range from about £170 with free postage to over £200 with postage on top, so need to shop around. I managed to get one at the bottom of the range from a seller called n-lion.

Yep, was more than happy considering it costs about £170 to buy a DF03 dark impact from a UK seller.
