The "Postman Brought Me" Thread

Recommended Posts

I had a great idea to build an "Ultimate TRF Style" TT-02. I dont know why I thought this was a great idea, as its going to cost a fortune. But Ive had a fair few TT02s so why not. I see this as the swansong of the TT as Im sure a new one is on thr horizon.

I was lucky enough to find this through a Vintage Console Game shop, who managed to get this to my door from Tokyo wll in for almost £100 cheaper than the UK using an eBay 20% code.

I then spent around £90 on other bits from Plaza Japan, which arrived earlier, and I have some TRF Big Bores for the shocks.

Ill need electrics, and a shell so this is NOT gonna be cheap so not sure if Ill even start it. I could buy a 934 45th Anniversary for similar money, which Is what I really want. Hmmm

To make the above SRX purchase even more difficult to justify.......

The SRX needed a bodyshell and potentially matching wheels/tyres. I have mainly rally cars, so although the SRX is a race car, the idea was at least to look like a Rally car. So. Lancia Delta it was.

I found a new one, and went to buy it. But for some reason I didnt. Obviously that affected my phone, because it knows everything and this popped up on Facebook Marketplace. 9 miles away. A brand new Lancia Delta shell with the wheels and tyres. This wouldve cost me £50/60, and was finished quite well (as good as I could anyway). To compound my problem. It came mounted to a brand new TT02R...... Theres some decals missing which are in the box too. Im not going to say what I paid, as I felt guilty. But its less than £100....

it even has a speed passion motor!

So what do I do now?!

It kinda makes this build pointless...... maybe sell it?

Collection looks good mind

Got the chance to grab a new shell for my Pajero. The decals are original too. The number plate decals are missing but that’s fine as I already have my own.

Unfortunately, I haven't had much time to upload pictures and post on here, but it does make for a large looking haul when I get the chance.

52866530668_3cb027af3c_c.jpg

Most of these parts came from Tony's Tamiya Parts. Somehow it's cheaper to ship from the UK than it is from a few states away in some cases. I need to get a few more little things and I'll have everything to finish one of my builds, and start another.

This body came from Japan faster than some items got here from 2 hours away.

I'm pretty sure it came off of a TG10 or similar as the drivers window is cut out and there is some foil insulation tape around where the head would be. It'll be perfectly fine on my TA03R

A PL delivery today, dispatched just before the start of Golden Week, which was nice. We’ve got some last minute parts for the XV-01, some odds and ends for the bits box and ,excitingly, some parts for my next project (should the actual car ever arrive).

Seem to be. It was showing up as out of stock when just listed but allowed me to add to the basket anyway.

Right, just to be clear (in case my wife is reading) this didn't all arrive at once. It was spread over at least a 72 hour period.

First up a Plaza Japan delivery which includes everything I needed from the leftovers from an M-06 build to create an M-05 "Bitsa" build.
Some TT02 tart-up bits and high-speed gear set.
The GT Tuned motor is for the aforementioned M-05.
DT02 Carbon battery brace, totally unnecessary bling
A new LiPo safe bag
GF-01 "missing" hop-ups after I realised I had almost all the available bits for one fitted to my runner. Only thing I'm missing is the FRP battery stay, but it seems to be out of stock everywhere
Window masks for the Porsche 911 GT2 body which were sent over by the ever so helpful @toyolien - thanks again buddy

Next delivery was from Canada - I didn't realise at the time that they have a setup with MCI decals where you can save on postage, else I would have taken advantage!
Reproduction 911 GT2 bodyshell (I have a wing assembly already)
The best bodyshell ever produced for the DT-02 - a Desert Gator reproduction. They sent an entire spare body and marked it "FREE" with a smiley face. So now I have both a runner and one I can keep pristine :D

New bits for my Dremel as it was on offer from the big South American Rainforest company

L&L Models Mini Cooper Clubman body
Tamiya '99 Subaru Impreza bodyset

Phew. Now to hide it all before the Mrs finishes work

This is my latest eBay find. The grabbed it primarily for the carbon shaft, stabilizers and the shocks. Other than it looking like it was under water for a while, I'm happy with it.

Son's Hornet kit and waterproof servo arrived today from @Fusion-Hobbies

Grasshopper servo failed earlier this week so time to upgrade 😂

CVA shocks and associated parts currently on backorder but I've got a Hornet to build and paint to keep me busy

for years. So went to my local modelshop for paint, scissors and tape.

uKF98EI.jpeg

I also picked up the new Max 10 Sensored ESC/Motor combo. I knew nothing about this! Didnt see anything about it getting announced, I saw no news etc but  im a MASSIVE Hobbywing fan, so Im expecting big things from this. Initially itll go in the SRX but I expect this to be my new go to 10th Scale Combo. As a result I went for the 3300kv combo as opposed to a higher KV motor as this will be awesome in pretty much anything 10th scale:

I've got just about everything needed to do my next project (paint arriving next week).

I know the S wheelbase is 6mm too long, but we'll work through it. I'm not the first.
