The "Postman Brought Me" Thread

Recommended Posts

Just got the last parts to complete the Carten M210R. Today I got the heart and brain for it. This time I'm dipping my feet into the brushless world. I even got more Shimizu tyres.

It’s gone on a shelf in the bike room, for now, but you can tell what it is!

2 big deliveries for me today which is unusual. An HB D8 Worlds nitro kit which I've been waiting on since February. This is the replacement for my D817v2 which got ruined in a flood. That package included a few other bits like some servos and receivers to replace other damaged parts - I'm still rebuilding cars from the flood.

The other was a Hotshot. A bit of an impulse purchase but lately everything has been difficult (strip and rebuilding isn't as fun as just building when you have a lot to do)  so i wanted a kit to just build. I was holding out for the Boomerang later in the year, but this was available now and since I have a Boomerang it makes sense, in a weird kind of way

As if I didn't have enough trouble on my hands, the postman brought me this today ... I have to stop bringing home all the stray cats I see. Gaaah ... :D

It is an M-03 chassis in the bubblewrap under the body.

After about 3 weeks after buying this off eBay it eventually turned up absolutely over the moon with the truck but the box wasn’t mint like described and I paid top money for P&P and I know they sent it super economy (Hermes or whatever they call themselves this week dumped it at my front door for the world to see) and it was just wrapped up in a bin bag so do I give them neutral feedback or just put it down as a learning curve and don’t leave any feedback? Probably just the latter!
traxxas do a brilliant job of their bodies:wub: I’m a newbie to traxxas rc bashers because I was always of the opinion that they are just built to fly around parks at crazy speeds and they are crazy fast but I stand firmly corrected about my unfounded opinion of them after buying a running my wide maxx and I’m loving every minute of running it and this caught my attention I put a cheeky offer in and he accepted it so I got it pretty cheap! New body for the wide maxx turned up at the same time only ordered that Monday turned up Tuesday! postie dropped it off!

Another Hirobo Bearcat SS arrived today...
hVQHOBB.jpg

This time it is with a box (the reason why I did not think much and clicked buy as it was at an affordable price). The bumper is broken, but inside the box there is a nice metal one home made (I'll have to post some pics later). It has it's original driver, and for the driving train, it seems complete and the belts in proper state. There is some work for sure, and in the worst case scenario, that makes a set of spare parts...

New projects have landed.  Waiting on a few more parts for the TD4 before cracking it open.  Hoping to see more BBX builds as well before deciding on the colour :D

Popped to a local modelshop called FTD Models and picked this up. Not too fussed about the chassis just wanted the shell but its a 251mm wheelbase so Ill build it up for the shelf. Weathers awful so I blame that for this purchase!

The mailman brought me some much needed bits. Two high torque servo savers for the Terra Scorcher and Manta Ray, and a new budget servo for the latter. 20230720-202239.jpg

These two beauties came a couple days ago, reliving my yoof here with my two first ever Tamiya’s!

The Bear Hawk needs some steering bits and full electrics, the Wid Dagger just needs electrics.

I’ll be back on this thread again as I’ve just today bought a used M05 too 🤦‍♂️

From the mail room at my office I finally picked-up the Sand Rover that @Tamiyastef sent to me. Thankyou!

Amazingly packaged and I'm very excited to build this one out.

Oh and it's one of those cars that is somehow much bigger than I had imagined. Very cool!

Yes! - I had a Wild Dagger back in the day too; so I'm also trying to relive that through creating another! I have a bodyshell in OK shape, but it's been painted PS-3 Light Blue. I got some repro decals from MCI and they do look good, just wondering whether to save the old body or buy / locate a replacement...
