When I first came across FDM printers several years ago I felt the same. The surface structure was not what I would like to accept. Since I got one foot in scale modelling the layerlines looked awful. But there has been an evolution in the meantime and it carries on.

The wheels I printed on my resin printer for the Revell 1/8 Chevrolet Corvette C2 look far better in my eyes than the chromed examples provided with the kit.

But as you wrote, this is not for "serious driving" merely for display.

I heard about it Sunday evening and ordered Monday around lunchtime. I figured since I waited they’d be out of stock when I went to order and was pleasantly surprised. I think they came out on Saturday or late last week.

A special one for me In my midlife crisis! Im trying to get as many "iconic" at least to me cars from Gran Turismo 3, but in Tamiya form. Ive also tightened my rules and where possible, they need to be very very good condition, preferably on a new to me chassis. 

I present the Xanavi R34 GTR on a TB-02. Built but never ran. Please note the wheels have spacers and the body has no body clips so it wouldnt run like this. Cant wait to get a pic of this with my others.  


 

 

 

 

Dont think Ive ever had a TB02, seems A very nice chassis for 2003!

All thats left now is a Pennzoil & Calsonic R34 GTR and a Raybrig NSX! And a lottery win!

I received a TT02R today in the mail and in another couple I will be getting a WRX body for it. No Pro Drive scheme for me, I plan on painting it silver and going for a SCCA prepped WRX. I'm really excited about this.

For regular readers of the what have you.....thread there is no bombshell that the postman brought me a brushless combo today. I also ordered a program box, so I finally can do something about the brutal brakes on the Carten. The trusty M-05 is also not forgotten. It got new damper mounts, so it will more and more get rid of the toy grade look. 

 

I also got another package with rally blocks for the XV-01. The old ones are almost done, but will last a few more rounds of postal racing beforebeeing a candidate for project boldy.

Goodies. Which car is getting the 21.5 then? A great choice of a higher turn motor for a change 👍

The M-08 will get that. I hope and think the Team Powers motor is good. It was a bargain for what it is.Then all my regular postal racers will be brushless.
