A Jun Watanabe Hornet!

Officially it is my Christmas present from my wife, but she let me have a look in the box before taking it away to be wrapped up and hidden until 25 December.

The Hornet was the car that got me interested in RC many years ago, so I am very pleased to be able to add this special edition to the collection. Unlike my other Hornet which was built up using period-appropriate '80s Acoms gubbins, this one will be built and fitted with a Spektrum SR200 receiver and S6000 digital servo, a TEU105BK ESC and a Tamiya Dirt Tuned motor to show how far quality entry-level gear has come in the last 30 years.

I've been on a shockping spree lately. Got two complete sets of Gmade shocks (piggybacks and onroad) The piggybacks have their own fully functional adjustable reservoir pistons. Also got some Team Associated 30WT silicone damper oil.

Yesterday: over 20 (30?) chassis and Hop-Up components for my Taisan Porsche project... I now have, or am close to having enough parts to build two complete cars, one stock and the other with every available TA02 Hop-Up at the time... including the 'impossible' to get ones... major "unboxing" exercise this weekend...

If there's two things I love about Tamiya it's the TA02 chassis and Hop Ups... (okay 3 - TRF).

Indeed... I'm trying to come up with a scheme to help someone really deserving to get the spare car. I don't know anyone myself so was thinking I could get some TC community ideas. Who knows, I'll open a thread soon on my Taisan and go from there.

But I did find this amongst my haul, had no idea at all how difficult they were to come by. Previously installed but never used.

Nice! A few TC members here run them, check out the "other makes" sub forum as there are a few threads there about them. I plan on getting one in the near future though I heard they are a PITA to do work on and also the stock shocks leak.
