The "Postman Brought Me" Thread

Recommended Posts

Returned to the office today after longer-than-usual holiday and a bout of COVID to find that 'Secret Santa' had left me a gift.

TT-02BR landed recently along with a XB2 due to a price that couldn't be ignored.

I’ve been feeling more interested lately in RC again. I really enjoyed making my Konghead a couple of years ago, it’s a great runner, then sold it. So I decided I would get a Dynahead which never used to interest me but now I really want to try one with the lower ratio portals etc. I decided to get one while I still can as sometimes in the past I’ve dilly dallied for too long then the model becomes unavailable

I had to get this from tamico (cost a fortune got hit by import duty gah), couldn’t find it in uk.

Picked up a cheap as chips transmitter case on AliExpress. It's good for the money I think.

I could I suppose precisely cut new foam and create room for other things at the same time but I can't see myself doing that. This is just fine.

I also ordered some bearings from RC bearings yesterday late afternoon, basic first class post. They arrived today - remarkably quick I think.

Team Azarashi body for DT-02!

I like their seal logo

Nice one @Sogogi, I did the same with the Azarashi Caynk body shell and one of their wings. Is that the one you've gone for too?

I found it to be a good shell, but had to butcher it a little more than I originally planned to get the close chassis fit I was after. Build thread is here if it helps -

Unfortunately, no -  a Rangie wouldn't fit on my drive. My 1:1 is metallic black, it doesn't have the lettering though.

I once bought an Alfa 146 that had a mahoosive Alfa badge sticker on the rear window that looked like it had been etched into the glass. That came straight off.

It does!  On the rear window (not pictured).

Do you think we might have been going on about rc a bit too much at work?

Sure. I got this one:

https://a.aliexpress.com/_EJEyb1L

It's designed for something much bigger than the NB4 but mine drops in well enough as you can see and isn't left rattling about.

UPS delivered this at work yesterday. I wanted a 239mm chassis to fit a Golf MK2 body on. I originally thought about getting a second hand M-07, but when I saw that the Carten M210 FWD now also comes in 239mm that was the one. Got it from RC Kleinkram, which also is a brilliant shop.

The presentation is not exactly on Kyosho Legendary Series-level,  but for us grownups it's good enough and what counts is that the product itself is super.

Some more brushed motors for me today.  I decided I'd get the full set of LRP Spec.6 V10 motors as I'm thinking they might be some of the last brushed motors made that aren't for crawlers, the same goes for the set of Holmes Hobbies Retro Sport motors I picked up a little while ago.

I'll also be grabbing one of the Yokomo Esprit motors when they come out too...

As described here, my batch of products arrived today. Sadly, not everything was available, but it should be enough to get started… :)
