RCJaz.thumb.jpg.310f95631db5d6c6d58b63d91bf05192.jpg

This lot from RCJaz. More M-06 bits, the latest BB-01 Hop-Ups, extra bits for my MF-01X build, a tyre gluing helper, Tamiya / Hobbywing 60a ESC and a sweat band. No idea why - I saw it and I wanted it!

Treated the GH to some vintage goodness in the form of Parma Aluminium Nerf bars,  courtesy of Mr @Frog Jumper (thank you sir, they will do very nicely indeed 👍🏻)

My Tamiya parts trafficking mule son who is living in the States also made it possible to get them all the way down under to there final destination as well 😁

Frank the driver gave them the thumbs up too, well he would if he had any.

Please tell us you got a matching head band and will post up a pic of yourself in full Tamiya Bjorn Borg wielding a transmitter*?

*ideally in that way people do when they think if they rotate the whole transmitter it'll make the car turn a bit sharper, plus an intense gurn. And a power stance.

Not just today, but in the course of the last few days all three of these have turned up at my door.  I've been looking for them for a while to complete my set of motors so I'm well chuffed  :D  I now have everything brand new, unused and boxed (where relevant) from the 1996 Dyna-Run Super Touring onwards apart from the Dyna Storm pink motor.  That (if I could even find one...!) and the earlier stuff is far too pricey for me to pick up now!

So im going to tell this story exactly how it played out...... a least thats what my girlfriend thinks.......

As I stated prior to buying the Pennzoil R34, I was 'banned' from wasting money on R/Cs, at least for 6 months. That went out the window when the Pennzoil came up......

However, truth be told, Ive only ever 'understood' and wanted the Touring Cars from the 90s when it comes to Tamiya. I started this hobby in 1994, with an M-01 Mini Cooper, and I lusted over the Rally cars and Japanese Touring Cars in Beatties and the Tamiya Catalogues..... Now Im in a better position financially, mainly because Im no longer 8 years old, Ive been doing that. But other than the Hotshot, that my friend had handed down from his Dad. I knew next to nothing about anything Tamiya did in terms of off roaders. However, on my Tamiya journey, I've realised that theres some really special off road Tamiya's that exist. So as Ive been part of various Facebook groups and forums, Ive ended up wanted some of these off roaders, and have been lucky enough to obtain an Avante Black, Egress Black, Astute 2022 and a BBX. For some reason, the Top Force Evo stuck out, and it became a model of interest. Id been eyeing them up brand new.... Recently, I was also lucky enoough to nab an RC10CC, from my LHS, on the first run. I got the text message it at had arrived and straight away went to pay and pick it up. I got home and was like, hmmm. I dont have any emotional attachment to Associated, or the RC10, or even RC Racing. So I stuck it on eBay before Xmas, for a not stupid but higher than RRP price,  and truth be told forgot about it. It sat sealed in my collection. Randomly, I then got the notification it had sold, for a decent price, nothing crazy, but hey that wasnt really my intention to profit massively. So off it went. Now back to the Top Force Evo. I noticed one for sale on a facebook group. I never buy off Facebook unless I personally got and collect. However, some beer's may have been drank, and I may have struck a deal for a 2021 Top Force Evo, built but never used. I feel it was a good deal, so off I sent the funds. Today this arrived.

BDEZZZt.jpeg

Its beautiful! Ill get better pics, but its all there.

Now thats the story my Mrs heard. Truth is, I bought this on Sunday, after a few beers, in Pizza Hut for my her nephews 13th birthday........ I then lucked out, because earlier today, someone bought my RC10CC that I forgot I even had for sale on eBay and saved my bacon! So the one in one out policy worked, and I even made a little bit of money. MAN MATHS!!

Got a large box today and it contained my Buyee splurge from December.

AAQaaQD.jpeg

Bunch of various parts for TF cars.

IYvL48p.jpeg

This is just the best looking car ever. Can't get enough of Skylines.

jlzGlU1.jpeg

TF-2 which will be a buggy at some point. This one smelled bad, pure cigarettes! I've had good luck with used old cars. They haven't really smelled bad, only just a little damp or old. But this one covers them all.

mYzNUGk.jpeg

Lastly, NIB Optima Mid. Under 300€, so I think this one was a bargain.

There was no postman involved but today I met up with a very nice man called @Busdriver and acquired this Blitzer Beetle.

20240207_120602

I had not appreciated just how marvellous the driver is. He's been through the wars a bit I guess, with that scar 'n all, which is perhaps why he feels the need to wear a German army helmet just to pop down the shops. Mind you, with a 4300kV motor he'll be at those shops in quick time, and not necessarily wheels down.

My plan is to apply the layout, steering and rear toe mods I did to my Falcon and add a box art Stadium Blitzer shell and white wheels. I will probably also design new front lower arms because the Blitzer ones on my Falcon are really jelly-like compared with its now stiff rear arms (and tub) and the mismatch makes it drive a bit funny, I think. Might also do a front hex conversion but I'm not sure, because I do have the bearing wheels. If I don't, then I'd need to think about the front uprights because straight ones don't go with my crank steering. I may see if it's possible to press long Blitzer axles into F103 uprights.

Where the driver will go I'm not sure, but he deserves pride of place behind the wheel of something.

And I have to say @BuggyDad is an equally nice person and a pleasure to do business with. We also found a fantastic pump track in St Albans which allows rc’s but even better an overgrown concrete rc track in the woods that hopefully is to be renovated!!!

Thanks!

What a remarkable find - an old overgrown rc track. We thought it could even be usable with just a good clean up, if running cars that'd take a few cracks in a dirty tarmac surface. Buggies but with soft compound road/general purpose tyres, perhaps? With permission from the centre, perhaps a few of us could turn up with some brushes and shovels and give it a go...

I saw that track on PopAlong RC a few days ago.

It would be great to have a semi permanent track in Herts. Hopefully some of the original track can be cleaned up and refused. A rally cross style track would be great for pretty much all RCs.

I think we’re rapidly approaching the “why bother buying the original kit in the first place” stage of collecting parts for my M-08 build.

But look at the shiny shocks! I’ve not seen these in the wild for a bit.

Been sitting on this PJ cart for a while and got tired of seeing items go in and out of stock.
