The "Postman Brought Me" Thread

My initial plan was build it and run it, but I’ve also bought a Buggy Champ so I think I will just build the Egress and run the BC instead. I was in Japan back in 2016 and brought back a Sand Scorcher kit and Futaba radio set (both were very cheap compared to UK prices); I built the SS but then sold it and always wanted to replace it with a BC, and I still have the radio gear spare.

I worked in a large model shop when I was young, and whilst I was mainly into RC planes, I built customer cars (Tamiya) in the run up to Christmas for extra cash, and whilst I enjoyed it sometimes when you were on your third Monster beetle or Midnight Pumpkin it got a but tiring! But now I just love building some of the kits I never had when I was young, and the Egress was the panicle of Tamiya at the time.

Cool. Some nice memories there👍

Finally got an m-chassis Alfa.  This will go on the M-08.  I definitely want the classic red paint job at some point, but this one might be a two-tone race livery.

Arrived from China today. SkyRC BD350 discharger and D200neo charger. The D200neo will save some space on my pit bag while the BD350 really cuts down on the time it takes to bring down lipo voltage to storage levels

I hate not running Tamiya wheels, but MST wheels are just so cool. Especially with adjustable offset

I agree, MST makes some very nice wheels.

I was wondering about the wheels on this pickup that's posted on ebay and I think you've provided the answer.

They look great!!!

Was browsing eBay whilst my Mrs watched the Rugby on Saturday (im not into Rugby) and I noticed this. Had a long chat with the guy selling it, lovely guy, and struck a deal. It arrived today

pUpUo0h.jpeg

Now you may be thinking, why has he bought that old TA02 for? Hasn't he just sold 5 of those for a 'clear out'?

Well yes, but when I bought my Tamiya Repsol Cosworth, I didnt have the correct wheels. Ill be honest, I prefer the fake Rally Style ones I have on it, but recently Ive been making some perfecting tweaks to my stable, so I decided to get the period correct kit ones.

I'm not going to lie and say Ive been looking every day for #50711, but when they did come up, the seemed to be very expensive or battered. From my limited knowledge, they only came on the 1 Cosworth model. I'm sure an expert will let me know I could have got some from 'X' but hey, I have 4, decent. condition ones now.

They will end up on this

vdxzdjE.jpeg

As I say, I probably prefer the ones that are on it, but hey. This is how it should be and how I remember it.

It also gives me a spare chassis, so I can move my Mitsubishi Evo 7 WRC off my SRX onto this chassis (Rally car, rally chassis) and Ive picked a road car shell for my SRX (Touring Car Shell for a Touring Car).

Make sense? It does to me! I think!

Of course it makes sense👍🏻

Same wheels were used for the Clio Williams kit but in grey, also expensive and rare. I have them on my Escort because they are correct but I do prefer the 2 piece 50420 from the Michelin Pilot Escort

I have the 2 piece ones in storage for my Pilot Sport Escort. I may put them on but theyre a bit faded. It currently sports the same ones as my Repsol above. I feel a wheel changeover soon

Something arrived today while I'm wrapping up the CAD work of the Hunter / Galaxy project...

That thing is really tiny...

Well, can I really wrap up my Hunter project without taking care of this tiny guy? It seems we are playing extended time now :-)

Received my XV-01 from @Kowalski86 and of course had to get it running right away to test it for a bit before I tear it down and upgrade it.
