Received my XV-01 from @Kowalski86 and of course had to get it running right away to test it for a bit before I tear it down and upgrade it.

Thank you for the mention, hopefully my shock setup wasn't too bad!

Definitely use some better batteries than I did, I ran some cheapo 3000Mah NiMHs with that Superstock/giant pinion, it'd take off like a rocket but run for maybe 15 minutes before draining the battery.

It drove pretty good on Asphalt with your setup. I also have a set of gold CC01 shocks that I plan on using once I upgrade it to the Long Damper setup.

The Protek 5000mah Lipo battery I had in the FJ works pretty well in the XV! So much so that the RZ motor is going to stay for now instead of swapping it out for brushless.

I'm glad to hear that, when I first drove it I felt like the front needed some stiffness to offset the weight. Shocks were straight up/down due to personal preference.

My second recent purchase from a TC member. This time, the most excellent @Grumpy pants

I have always wanted an M07 and this shell is a very similar colour to the Bluebird my Dad had when I was a kid (he bought it off his Dad!). Need to find a photo...

Just received my Shapeways order for my Lancia 037 Rally

IMG_7788.thumb.jpg.6524bf1a131165576f012f5d51e9a18d.jpg

Parts:

Lancia 037 Rear Grill
Lancia 037 Scale Tail Lamps
Lancia 037 Marker Lights

Shoutout to @Pintopower aka Ampro Engineering for providing the Marker Lights as a separate part to order! I was reluctant to modify the body to fit the complete set of headlights of which the marker lights are a part so I contacted Alberto and he was so kind to provide them as a separate purchase, thanks again!

Carbon reinforced tub for the TB04 Pro, it seems the Pro will become an R.

Wasn't sure to get this or not, at least this way I'll have a spare tub!

Had some paint mishaps in projects this week so to pickup my mind and enthusiasm up I unboxed a build I collected about six months ago but never photographed.

Build thread has been written ( in my mind 12++ months ago ) but on TC a few moments ago . Happy Friday everyone.

Wow, next to receiving my Shapeways order today, I also received parts to get rid of the slop in the steering of my Lancia 037 Rally and the new prop shaft I ordered!

Got my Tamiya steel pinions gears, 17-19 tooth for my neo fighter and racing fighter. I plan to really run the crap out of those cars, so I thought prolonging gear life with steel pinion was worth the long run cost of replacing gears from the aluminum chewing them up. Also I found these kinda easy to find, despite hearing how hard they are to get. Probably got lucky

The ebay axle for the Chevy K10 build arrived today.

I couldn't wait to assemble leaf springs and wheels that arrived last week.

AP1GczPhQ2NiwdEQcvhE35StE7KE9rHEM6wqt614

...and, compare the assembly to the rear axle that's under the TF2 Blazer.

AP1GczO29lRu4HCsDS_AuwNnExdsvKsYHkUeIInT

The two axles appear dimensionally identical (170mm pin to pin) and gear ratio is the same as well: 2.67:1  The differences: two sets of shock mounts and this case is fully CNC machined.  The TF2's cases are die cast and don't fit together as well.  The fit and finish on this one is excellent.  Very happy so far.

Some parts needed to repair the SC10 after a very unfortunate encounter with a picnic table leg.  :(  These came from a random ebay seller.

And, a programming card required to make changes to the TH F150's ESC.

I've bought the card from my all-time favorite online source for RC parts; Liquid RC.  Today is Saturday and the order was placed Thursday.  Extremely fast shipping, to say the least.

They offer parts at competitive prices, 99 cent shipping for everything and, best of all, amazing service!!  :)

My Alfa GTA body set finally came in this week to my LHS.   Also my first BL motor and esc for the car side of the hobby.  Going into Slash.  Bunch of friends are running them in a parking lot Friday nights.  Lots of fun.

Long time lurker, just never got around to posting! After several days of arguing with FedEx on the existence of my address, one which has existed for 80+ years and they've delivered to 100's of times previously, these finally arrived. Totally lucked out as well it appears and not a single fee, can't say that happens often.

Very nice! Been eyeing out the DB01 (nearly impossible to find these days) and DB02 (didn´t look as much, but I think similarly hard to find BNIB?).

What plans do you have for it?

There seems to be quite a few DB01 on eBay? I got mine on UK eBay from a Japanese seller for about the same price as a Dark Impact.

Another delivery from PJ. That shop is so addictive...

Some more parts for my Javelin. As the Le Mans 240S 15.5T motors were back in stock and much cheaper than they are in Europe, I bought two instead of one!

As Elbowloh said, the DB01 Durga still seems pretty common, especially over in Japan, hop-ups for the DB01 however are much thinner on the ground now, would love to find a DB01RRR one day (I can dream heh).

With the DB02, plan to do a DB02 'RRR' esque build with basically everything and the kitchen sink thrown at it, mostly for the badword of it :D Parts for the DB02 seem to be much easier (and cheaper) to get than the DB01, can only think, so few bought them that there are still plenty about. Not saying all DB02 parts are easy to get but certainly seems most of them are. Still hunting for an elusive few bits.

Another one of the few remaining pieces of my Tamiya brushed motor collection for me - one of the unlabelled handout Acto-Power Pink motors.  This one is unused and from a shelf queen so in great condition, apart from the terrible soldering done when attaching some motor wires.  I removed both of the wires by hand (!) then as much of the solder as I could before adding a fresh layer over the top to tidy it up.

I now have examples of everything except the old black Endurance and Sprint motors, which I'm not really interested in but may pick up at some point, plus the kit-supplied Dyna Storm Acto Pink motor (of which there's one on eBay but it's overpriced for its condition as it's been there for a while).

Another day, another delivery.  I seem to be strangely drawn to the TD2/TD4 chassis, despite not having built one yet!  I have both a TD2 and TD4 in my build queue, plus I also have one of these already in my NIB collection.  Not sure what I'll do with it longer term, but it'll go into the collection for now.  They're quite unusual with the yellow chassis and springs, and I picked this one up for £150 less than they cost new in UK - I think they were around £380 from memory?  This one came up on eBay at the weekend with a low starting price and only a few watchers.  I somehow couldn't resist and won it by 32p  :o

I finally found a nice set of vintage Blackfoot shocks, and I always check what else the sellers have for sale in case there's a nice combo shipping opportunity. As luck would have it, the seller had a sweet little box insert for the vintage Celica LB Turbo Gr.5! I thought it would be cool to use the box as spare parts and tire/wheel storage for my recent tribute build of the TT-01E Celica. It was very affordable, and the shocks were able to ship inside for combo shipping  cheerful.png

The TR Mighty Tuned came from elsewhere, and I've decided to use it for my Heavy Dump Truck build. It looks like previous information only told us that it is 35T motor. After a proper run-in and testing, I can add that it runs at 11,700 RPM @ 7.2V pulling 0.88 A, forward direction. No idea on torque, but I wanted a little powerhouse for this truck and not a speed demon.

Yesterday was a very good day when a pal at work gave me a Thunder Tiger Eb4 to restore.  I know next to nothing about Nitro cars and just as little about where to source Thunder Tiger parts but it should make an interesting project.

Today however was even better when the postman brought me this……

After gazing at the egress on the front cover of the 91 guidebook, it’s great to finally get my hands on one.
