Mini OAG insisted that some chocolate was included 🙌🏻

You are doing an absolute top job raising a cheerful and kind person that has her priorities right. Chocolate first, the rest is for later 😁

The non-rally version decals for the Datsun 240z Fairlady body that I am planning to cut and paint in the near future.

Picked up a set of these plastic crates   B & Q.

£12 for 3, study enough for storage imo.

Wheels off, they are deep enough for a Sand Scorcher 👍

My associated tool set showed up.

The bad news?     They don't fit any fasteners on the RC10.

It appears the fasteners on the RC10CC are SAE and NOT metric after all.

So daughter had the last of my early cheap and cheerful plastic geared servos in her TT02 Impreza (before I knew any better 6 months ago!) Last weekend, just like the other, it gave up after some off road action.

So, I donated an Etronix 2035 out of my M08 racer and got myself something more track appropriate!  My first Savox servo, popped in this 1252 afternoon and my goodness what a difference!

I had these back in the day they made great storage for my Strikers etc, they were a bit cheaper but that’s like most cost of living crisis things.

I’m pretty sure I’ll go and get another set of 3 today and then for the 1st time ever all my kit is out of brown boxes 🥁

Nice, I’ve never completed a new kit, so my recent kit buying is all about learning new skills and enjoying my ‘T’ from another side 😊

The 1st of 4 cars has arrived after a mad splurge on EBay last week.

I bought this TL01 just for the chassis to sit another shell on, I’ll keep this WRC shell for a runner.

The front wheels are all out of kilter being toed in, not sure how to adjust it as they have fixed links 🥳

The chassis has a hole to in the underside to access the servo horn, is this standard?

I love that hole. It was pain to replace servo horn with the one without a hole.

That sentence sounds weird…

Every holes a goal 😂

Turns out fitting 65mm shocks will cause toe in… fitting 55mm shocks ( eye to eye) brings the front wheel straight again.

The 2nd of 4 purchases has just arrived.. been after a Celica Gen7 for ages 🥳

A very dusty FF02 with sticking rear friction shocks, but everything else seems in order, time for a clean up.

The shell is poorly painted, and I need a decal sheet for it but I’m very happy!

Finally found a Neo Falcon, but it needs some restoration as it's a bit crusty with some corroded metal bits. So far I have a new set of wheels and a new set of correct tires set aside. The fronts that came on this score are spire spikes, so I will set them aside for something else. I have some Tamiya paint remover on the way, so I can try that out and paint this body and wing proper black. I even have a new set of decals in the event they don't survive the paint removal process. Anyhoo, I'm pretty happy to find one :D

Ordered on Wednesday and arrived at my "post in a shop" already on Thursday evening,  but I first had the time to pick it up yesterday. The Post was quick. I was not (and Friday and Monday were holydays here).

I have not forgot the trusty M-05,  so it is getting some more upgrades. I want to try 60D Ride slicks on it, so I needed a body capable of housing them. Beeing a not snowboard VW guy I liked the Suzuki Swift Sport from day one and I consider it beeing one of the last "proper " GTI cars (maybe together with the Renault Clio Sport and the VW Lupo GTI) with an NA engine which you actually have to drive. A Swift Super 1600 is even better. Which color for it? On the way to work last Tuesday I met a Renault Alpine A110 in blue metallic with orangee roof,  so decition done.

I also finally got the stabilizer set for the M-05 and new bodyposts for the M-08,  so I can make the Porsche 914 body sit where it should. The current are cut all the way down and I use bodypost extensions. Because of that I don't get the body low enough in the front (it's resting on the bottom of the extensions),  but at the same time the OE bodyposts are too short to fit. Løten RC shop also provide me with some Mamba bonbons,  which will be a nice dessert after lunch B)

decided to go brushless crawling. The HW fusion SE motor/esc combos arrived a couple of days ago and are installed in my TRX4 and the SCX10iii. I’ve had to change the radio system in the Axial as it has an esc/rx  combo. Put my fly sky GT5A in it wchic actually allows me to set up DIG and 2 speed transmission. Just need to find a mini servo in my box of goodies. They are crazy good!!! The low speed control is just awesome!!  I also bought some more heavy duty steering servos as the stock ones are a little weak. The Furitek fcx24 brushless setup arrived today. 3 days from order to delivery from Vietnam!!! This is for my FCX24 Blazer. This set comes with an FMS compatible receiver so you keep the stock controller.

@Busdriver I have this combo in my Rav4, works flawlessly and completely plug and play. I am very happy with mine.

Might seem counter productive to RC but I like having multiple things on the go.  I´ve been acquiring iconic rally and race cars that inspire me in 1:24 scale.

And the 3rd out of 4 cars has now arrived and this looks to be a real find, an unbuilt complete Ferrari Enzo on TB01 chassis!

All the parts are there, unopened for the most part ( only parts tree D is not in a sealed bag), shell and decals with masks, CVA’s and bearings, the build manual has never been opened,  and a NIP MSC.

The box has seen better days and it’s arrived with crumpled, tatty and lots of dust and dirt fell out, but I’ve spruced and strengthened it back up and I’ll sit gawping at this beauty for the next few hours now 😍

I have high hopes for the HW and Furitek setups. They both have excellent write ups by the right kind of people!!!

Im having a break from the hobby but this came today so I thought Id update. When it was up for sale I had to buy one. No idea when Ill fit it but…..

So as we all know Tamiya completely dropped the with the 40th and 45th Anniversary Porsche 934’s. The beautiful and extremely expensive 30th Anniversary is on a properly beautiful 230mm WheelBase bespoke chassis. Youd have though for Anniversaries Tamiya would have pushed the boat out but no they plonked it on a TA02 with an FRP Chassis, but only with a 236mm wheel base. This leaves the wheels sitting all wrong.

lCcdDZz.jpeg

I didnt cut that arch out BTW the previous owner did, luckily I have a spare genuine shell and decals. As you can see the wheelbase is all wrong. Theres a few ways of getting it right, trimming and shimming bits. Thats a bit cowboy for me, so I juat accepted it. Until now:

I noticed @Wystan Withers selling the perfect solution. A custom 230mm Carbon Chassis, with the unnecessary unused holes removed. It includes 3D printed adapters to move the body posts so you can use existing bodyshell holes. Brilliantly priced, and arrived from the US within 10 days. Brilliant! Thank you @Wystan Withers

5whHT9B.jpeg

As you can see its 6mm shorter

9aaoJaw.jpeg

Now my TAISAN STARCARD 993 TA02SW doesnt have the same wheelbase issue as the 934, but it has the Tamiya Hop Up Carbon Chassis kit so I thought Id compare

FYs7RCC.jpeg

l4gFzRw.jpeg

Its beautiful when compared

mUUE6sp.jpeg

Unfortunately, my 934 has an FRP chassis (see below) so the shock towers wont match but its a small price to pay. I dont think I can buy Carbon Shock Towers separately.

nOafMWN.jpeg

I need to shorten the main driveshaft (coat hanger style) by 6mm and flatten the end but Itll probay be the summer by the time I get round to it.
