The "Postman Brought Me" Thread

Recommended Posts

Just got back home after picking up this - the holy grale in RC for me and something I have been almost afraid of purchasing. What retro buggy can possibly top it. Samirc.no had jacked down the price to normal Optima Mid-level,  so it was just to pull the trigger.

I am not gonna stress building it. I have paint and MCI stickers for it since 2 years. The start is to enjoy it and read the excellent thread of Toyolien and Anthroxoid throughly.

Recieved my order from Tamico, new shocks for my traxxas rustler 4x4, steel  idler gear for the BBX, paint for my mf-01x golf body, shocks for the mf-01x, and suspension arms for my fire dragon so I can repair the broken one.

Double delivery today,

Intercepted the XM-01 at the Parcel pick up as it needed a signature and is 2 door down from work.
And some marvellous TA02SW carbon chassis plates to make the proper wheelbase for my Porsche 934 were in the mailbox when I got home from fellow TC member @Wystan Withers 😁 (Thank you my good man 👍🏻)

Hey Danny, was it much cheaper buying these items collectively from Tamico rather than from in the UK?
Did you pass Tamico’s  minimum order value (£165?) and did you get hit with customs or VAT fees?

For me it was cheaper, I live in the Netherlands, so for me no VAT and minimum order value.

My first Group C chassis. I bought it with complete vintage electrics ( not my thing ) . I sold off everything but the motor and as it sits it is almost completely free.

I gave it a test run with a simple "modern" 70A / Lipo combo and it flies with the sport tuned motor. Loose plan is it will be the carrier of my to be built NIB bodysets of the F40, and NSX. I now understand how the NSX wheels work, simple hubcaps.

Nevermind the spiderweb of cables, it was just for the test, i move this combo around to chassis i feel like running.

Whelp, right on the heels of gathering all the parts over several months to piecemeal a Montero Wheelie, I stumbled across a great deal for a legit one still in wrapping! What to do, LOL

I got sucked in by Tamico's deal of the week last week. I've had the Fox on my list of future projects for ever and the price was just too good to miss, especially since at around minimum order value I tend to think you've a decent chance of not being caught for extra charges 😉, although I can see this sitting around unbuilt for a good while, since I don't need more projects and I don't really have a clear idea how I'll tackle it. Plus a TD2 body I think I might well do box art.

I recently and totaly inadvertently clicked on cheap Ninja in the local website for ads. It arrived today...

Front dogbones, central shaft and driver figure are missing, and bodyshell will have to be replaced, but that the price was inline with this and I coud not help myself to click it :-)

A 'mostly complete' TB Evolution II. Someone pilfered the fancy dampers along the way (and subsequently lost the damper stays) but otherwise this sucker is mint. I'm very confident it was never run. Pulled a suspension arm and there was neither lube nor any sign of wear. Let the cleanup begin...

The postman was supposed to bring me some body mounts for my GF01 and two cans of paint for its new body this past Wed. Sadly they still have not arrived and the package is lost in between sorting centers. Yea me. Still makes me happy to see all the other cool things folks got today.

@Tamiyastef - the big thing in there was the shiny blue motor plates, right? :D

Are you going to put the Kadett body on the XM-01? (We had several Kadetts when I was a kid, most notable was a PS-6 yellow one (really sunshine-chicken-extra-yellow).

Yes

We had a NSU first and later a Kadett sedan when I was a kid. The Kadett was a kind of babyblue. Two uncle's had Kadett breaks (I believe they were called "caravan" BITD) and if I had the choice I would pick that. But having a Kadett Coupé is nice!

Finally received my TA02SW 230mm chassis plates from @Wystan Withers today. It took just 4 days from the US to Norway, then 2.5 weeks the last 80kms to my mailbox  The plates looks fabulous and the packing was really professionally done!

Nice haul!

DF03 dampers have been recommend recently for the Blitzer chassis, not sure that helps!
