The "Postman Brought Me" Thread

2 Austar radio sets, typically battered from my local Evri delivery girl but I’ll forgive her cos she’s a looker 🤪

Name me a better and cheaper radio set than these (or the GoolRC equivalents) and I’ll eat my new TD4!

Maybe you should try your incredible powers of persuasion on her to not batter your boxes. Or of course, she may be doing it on purpose in the hope you will stop ordering stuff so she doesn't have to deliver to "that strange man...."

Whar did you pay for those? I got the HotRC CT-8A for ~ £25 - 28.

The Austars were £20.80 each, I like each car to have its own radio set.

I tried a digital screen TX once and couldn’t get on with it as well as one with twist dials, having to look at the screen each time for setting was slower than twisting a dial so I stuck with these.

The range is pretty good, as far as I dare run it without fear of losing it 🥳

Too good of a deal to pass up locally off a friend. An XV-01Pro with a few spares and nice wheels. Loose plans are it will be going under my Ford Puma WRC winter /  ice car!

(For the WRC Puma itself, all masks were since pulled off to continue to cut the lexan and I wanted some more time to pass to think things through this difficult livery. )

I wanted to get back into the hobby after a 2 years hiatus, one thing led to another and, yeah...

I probably won't post a lot about the buggies because they're all very well documented here, but for the Tom's Levin I'll probably do a build thread because I don't think I've seen one from NIB here or anywhere really, and I'll try to find as many period correct hop up as possible to make it more interesting (and for my own personal enjoyment of course :D).

Today I received-

Replacement curved scissors - got the official Tamiya ones just before Plaza Japan put the price up :(

A replacement bodyshell for my Kyosho Outlaw Rampage (which meant the box I received was MASSIVE)

And a couple of sets of 53163 coloured springs as I was missing 1x fluorescent yellow spring on my TA-03F.

I was absolutely gutted when they arrived and it turns out now they're all painted black  I've not seen Tamiya re-use the same product number like this before, but actually change the nature of the product.

After 12 months of looking I managed to pick up a clear BNIB mini body.

This will be painted in the M03 box art livery.

I think it's been a bit since I purchased a Traxxas. I had a TRX-4 a few years ago, sold it and then recently became infatuated with the TRX-6. Found one for very reasonable on Facebook that is pretty close to being new. Not a scratch on the bottom and just some dust collection from being parked on a shelf.  After a 70 mile trip southeast for a halfway point meet up, I'm back with this slice of happiness. Next step is the Hobbywing Axe system.

The postman brought me an TT-02 kit, I am going to part this one out, keep the body wheels and tires and the esc and sell the rest of the kit.

I wanted a new body for my Ta-03, most of the bodies are about €40 and then I got shipping cost, so more then €50 for the body only.

Bought the whole TT-02 kit for €78 including shipping cost, that was a better deal with an hobbywing 1060 esc in the kit, the rest of the kit Iam going to sell for €35 euro or so.

The postman brought me a Banzai Hobby order and a Plaza Japan order - Kyosho Le Mans ESCs, Tamiya TLBE-04SR ESCs, Kyosho Big Bore shocks and springs and a Kyosho driver figure.

One more Banzai Hobby order to come, hopefully tomorrow, with a Kyosho Le Mans motor, Kyosho sensor cables, some old Yokomo brushed motors and a few Kyosho o-rings  :)

The first part of my next project which wont be for a while (unless I sell my Top Force Evo or Astute 2022 which Ive never used…….)

L&L Porsche 959 Body, and some 3D Printed wheels. Ive ordered a better set of decals which are on their way.

Now this was going to sit on a cheap MF-01X Jimny, and I was going to sell the body and wheels/tyres so it would have been a reletively cheap RC (Id struggle to find the driveshaft I know).

But I really enjoyed my SRX build so Im going to splash out on an XM-01 Pro. Im either going to wait a few weeks/months to fund it (as I have a BT-01 Porsche 2.7 on order next) or more than likely sell my Top Force or my Astute

Picked up an ST185 Celica for the XV01 (and a pair of Civic wheels that happened to be for sale).  Since there's no Castrol stickers I'll have to think about what I'm going to do with it.

According to the original manual it's not that easy, being painted from the inside and partially from the outside...

I saw these TS50 where available again through my usual retail places. How do you like them? Are they usable without the program box? Thanks :)

I get them because they are the cheapest way into brushless. Paired with a Supass Supersonic 13.5T, total cost just below £50. I am not sure how it is like without the box as I always had one since day one.

My first ever Shorty 2s lipo, Zop Power from Banggood.

This will fit nicely in my TD4 once I squash it in there all nice and squashy like.

I got some original rims for a CR-01 today (bought some on the 'bay). But I realized when I opened the package that the beadlocks (wheel ring, part of 51323, sits on a sprue) are missing ... so they are just useless.  Blah.
