Sweeeet! Reminds me of our Zinca sunblock out in Las Vegas in the early 90s, when Wet-N-Wild was the locals hangout.

Love it like the KISS Tears are Fallin video!

Custom sticker on the back of that wing: « Tears are Fallin »

I’m off work today so was able to intercept the postie. A delivery from PJ.

First up some parts to repair the cracked gear box case on the TT-02 carpet racer.

Next up… I may have got slightly over excited about the upcoming Porsche Group-C car. That’s the trouble with preorders. You have time to collect.

Finally. This had nothing to do with the postman. I picked this up from @DGunn1 at the weekend. It was great to meet you. Thanks a lot.
I’ve been thinking about a Terra Scorcher since January and as soon as I made my mind up they were all gone so I very pleased with this.

I just love how the old Skyline GTR looks. Had to have it and will never run it. First Kyosho i ever had.

The Unimog is just to cute! My mother said the Unimogs were my favorite vehicles when i was tiny. Wonder how she will react when show her the built Unimog 😁

Super basic, but super useful in every body build I am making. And now in black. I never knew black glue existed.. Or I never thought of searching for it! Skips a step of painting it afterwards.

This has been over the past few days,

54073699067_de111af496_b.jpg

I'm very partial to the Dynamite tools. The first tool I bought specifically was a Dynamite 2mm back in 2001ish when I got my Yokomo MR4TC Pro. I really didn't want to build that with an allen key. I'll be building some RC10's and needed SAE drivers.

I've come to realize that people sell completed bodies at a fairly reasonable price on ebay. My paint and body skills are not great, and this is a good way to get some of my projects completed.

Got the carbon plates allright, but not the aluminium housing :(

Eta: Well, I guess I screwed up. It's possible to select the plates and/or the housing by changing colour. Not very userfriendly, imho

Anyway, the plates are the most important bits so now I can start building my beetle

Also, I quite like the phrase "Doesn't Tamiya Brand" ... I'm gonna get that on a sticker and put it on my Nikko Turbo Panther :D

AliExpress is a pain like this. For many items there are 3 or 4 plus options to choose from and sometimes what you get depends on what picture you click on within the page!

Massive thanks to @JimBear for sorting these out for me, from Germany.

There can't be many forums like this where people who have never met are willing to help others from all around the globe.

Thanks again Jimi 👍🏻DSC-0656.jpg

I'll be using this roller for a Low Ride Pumpkin project:

I'll be using this to make my own re-release once I get another Manta Ray kit:

I've been looking for a Road Wizard box ever since I got my mint JPS, and now I have a decent runner project that I'll finish box art:

Yes most aliexpress listings work like that now. They use the various ‘colours’ for different groupings of the items or eg different battery sizes etc. it’s ok when you get used to it.

Actually, I find oldschool dedicated fora that have been around for +2 decades like this one to have much more helpfull members (and information!). While a newbie here I'm a member of a few other (non-RC though) places and they're much like this site. Helpfull members that don't really hide behind a wierd name/avatar but will step up when help is needed. And I've met a bunch of people IRL and gotten some long lasting friendships and trips around the globe that way

Modern SoMe, like FaceBook/Reddit/Twatter/Instagram etc are filled with bots. Information is fleeting and just in general terrible places to loose ones mind

As we get older I think places like this will see a resurgence. Unfortunally a lot have gone the way of the Dodo during the "new" SoMe heyday from 2010-2020

Cheers

Well, not the postman, but better still a real living breathing gent of a TC member, Mr @DGunn1, dropped this off for me today:

20241020_174528

Most exciting I think. I certainly didn't need another kit but I have long fancied one of these so here we are. Thinking at the mo is that this is not a candidate for my usual approach of modding the heck out of it. It's far too good for that. Instead I will build it stock unless I hear of any specific recommended upgrades. Only then after running it will I tackle any issues I find, and most likely I'll be able to do so by stealing the ideas or products of others, recalling at least one on-running thread about 3d printed TF strength mods.

To the left of the picture are some Super Astute parts I have borrowed to measure, with the aim of modelling them all for CNC replication in either CF or more likely the as stock choice of GRP. Initially this is to create a hybrid Madcap meets Astute meets modern available or makeable parts buggy, essentially an Astute geometry car but for guilt-free running because it contains nothing rare or old.

Glad to hear that. I'm not on social media or any other forum so I can't compare but in my experience Tamiyaclub is a real friendly place.

Some goodies came in. I was pricing out large quantities of 3mm locknuts on ebay, it seemed better to just get 4 packs of 20 from A Main along with everything else I ordered. Ebay's fees plus shipping costs can really make a good deal into a bad one, so that's why it pays to shop around.20241021_130431.thumb.jpg.ef6ca7909ab72a55cd0071f8302da22e.jpg20241021_130103.thumb.jpg.18aacb688800584f19a73d0ea4e19d3e.jpg20241021_130229.thumb.jpg.dc50e21c32d85de8c7ee4d8e9758caff.jpg20241021_130400.thumb.jpg.db51282beb12ee222cc742acfc096ad9.jpg20241021_130155.thumb.jpg.5fb8462af091afb9de1c4803f56fbc9e.jpg

Finding a JIS screwdriver in the wild here is like trying to find Bigfoot. Nobody knows what they are and the people that do know swear by Tamiya's screwdrivers.

Busy day for the postman nowadays. I got a package from RC Decals in good old tea and pint-land. They are for my Thunder Boomer and I ordered that many to have multiple alternatives. I have a plan to use the Blockhead HS 2 livery,  but if they don't fit how I want them to I have a plan B and C.

I also got the heart and brain for my coming 2nd hand bargain XV-02, which I hope to get tomorrow. It's gonna be for loose surface, so a reasonable motor choice.
