Nothing exciting, a small package with ten lipo alarms.

Hmm, these always seem like a good idea (especially when running Tamiya ESC's without LVC) but in my experience this particular style of alarm will blast out "false alarm" buzzes under hard throttle / braking. Making an almost continuous beeping when the battery is 'under load'. Probably not an issue in cars with low-power systems, but very frustrating on big-wheeled cars and buggies!

I've experienced that before, in two cases. 1. If the battery is already partially discharged. 2. If it is a battery with a low C-rate (less than 50C). In general, I am happy with these little things.

Bought a cheap, long sensor cable on AliExpress for the XV01. Was pleasantly surprised when it turned up as it's a genuine Hobbywing product

A nice, low-use Metal Dump Truck arrived. I'll be changing out the running gear and swapping wheels and tires to match my Heavy Dump Truck, and sort out any other little things:

An Astromech unit!

40cm/16 inch tall, and it's originally RC but the controller is missing. However it was cheap and a nice display or project piece. ^_^

Good deal on a sealed box. ;)

Edit: Yes, I’m building it blitzer style. This machine was built to be run and not intended to collect dust in a box up on a shelf. I also believe that a luxury watch should be worn and used. It was built for that specific reason.

Today the 2nd hand XV-02 turned up. Costing less than half the original price and barely ran. I have a 17,5 Hobbywing and a 10bl120 going in with my go to servo Power HD B7. It's gonna be for loose surface, so it came in time for the winter.

I should not scan the classifieds and have already a winter XV-01,  but this turned out so cheap that I could not resist.

"Forgive me wife for I have splurged":P.

Elefun got a batch of the new Bittydesign Skoda Fabia RS the other day,  so when I also needed some bits and bobs to make a solution for fitting a shorty in the XV-02 it was just to pull the trigger. It's gonna be green candy on PS flat clear.

Another shop all of a sudden had the parts I needed for fitting the center diff, so that is going in as well.

As seen on the oic we have hoar frost today and there is no hope climbing over the magic 15C, so I have made the necessary holes in the beat up white Lancia Delta body, which will have to do to begin with. I think I'll need a Saturday home alone some day in the winter to have the time to heat up the workshop and paint the Skoda Fabia.

Very lucky that came through considering there was barely a picture on the internet of this fabled box before your wanted thread!

I just received Ryo Inagaki's Artbook 2024 :-)

I feel like I participated to his book as he used two of my models as a basis for some of his work... And he made something very special for me on the very first page...
I love it :-)
