Postman brought me bear! And some Evos, been wanting a TB Evo lately but couldn’t decide which, so I got a couple :). Almost grabbed a 1and 5 as well but talked myself out of it, I figure if I went that far I’d have to get the rest to complete the set and I already have too many cars as it is .

The bottom one looks superb with that big LCD display.

It is superb IMO. So much you can do. Stores settings for 10 different cars, has throttle/brake and steering curves you can set individually how you like them, choose which button controls which channel and so much more. And nothing more complicated than it needs to be, very intuitive in my experience.

I shall invest in one. Thank you sir.

The mailperson (or -dog, who knows?) brought me some tiny plastic parts, courtesy of Mr @jonboy1, Esg. Tiny pieces, big happiness. :)

'Collection only' on this order,

But, should be enough to start the Avante build, plus a few others in the wings...

SP10.5 and the BL120 are a nice pair, just did the same combo.  Beastly if you add boost and turbo, had to tame it back down :o

Good to know,

I had my eye on an 8.5t on the club sale page the other day, as I wondered if the 10.5t  would be too mild! 😳

Good evening!

The latest addition to my addiction and the G6-Family:

KING_YELLOW_01.thumb.jpg.c9893201d0eca446f9d39183f042fdf9.jpg

Used and came with a Carson Reflex Tx/Rx-Combo. Ball bearings are installed. And a quite weird lighting as been accommodated. Had to re-align the steering servo (what did the original owner do?).

Lights looking quite nice from the outside:

The weird part is when you look at the inside:

We'll see what I can do about it. Maybe I can get rid of these "rubber blobs" without ruining the body.

My first vintage RC car! I purchased a Grasshopper II Super G last week, which arrived today.

Sadly, no box or manual is available, but the car itself looks good and even contains the original Robbe servos – yes, a few signs of wear and tear, but a fair condition for a Grasshopper II. Its motor was updated to a 540 Torque Tuned and as far as I see, the rest is original. Sadly, the front wheels are shot (dry-rotted), but I try to keep them for the shelf. One rim is broken and was fixed with glue, so I have to think about what to do with them. A nice surprise: The car seems to be ball-raced (even if I did not look into the gearbox so far) – and I absolutely LOVE the gold-plated screws! 😍

The whole purchase was a kind of test for myself, if I would be happy with such a purchase. All in all, I am happy and looking forward to get it cleaned and ready to run.

Here is the showroom entry – at the moment, still a „Work in Progress“.

I think, perhaps, that the screws may be brass? They indeed look more yellow/golden than steel or aluminium would on my original specimen. Mine was fully equipped with pogo sticks and plastic bushings, though. :D

Yes, indeed, this is not real gold… ;) As far as I see, these are yellow-chromatized instead of silver-chromatized. I hope this is the right word in English (lost in translation here), but you get it… everybody loves gold. ;) As far as I know, these are original from Tamiya – as far as I know, they switched the process (and the look of the screws) somewhere in the 80s. Far back in my memory, I remember working with these kind of „gold-plated“ screws – maybe someone here knows more? I have to take a look… ;)

PS: You are from Germany, too, @JimBear! ;) My guess is the silver screws were just „verzinkt“ while the golden screws were „gelb-passiviert“ bzw. „gelb-chromatiert“. ;)

When I found that TRF shocks are available in LHS again, I decided to buy them together with TT-02 Carbon Shock Tower ( I have one already) and come back to my project of heavily updated TT-02. I need also new, fast servo. I found that difference between slow ( around 0.17s) and fast ( around 0,08s) servo is amazing. Car is so much more responsive with fast servo.
