Hello Gentlemen,

How Do i take off and/or put on Tamiya's pre assembled drifting tires? They are very hard. I thought about using boiling water but worry it might hurt the chrome finish. Anyone have a good way to do this?

This is the tire set i bought.

I thank you for your time,

VS

far as i can tell, you can't take them off

easier to buy a new set of wheels, honestly

only reason i'd take them off was to put them onto another set of wheels

because they don't fit onto Tamiya cars with the "reversible" suspension.

The bracing spokes foul the suspension.

Since you can purchase both the wheels and tires seperately, I don't know why you would need to seperate them. They are not meant to come apart when you buy them preassembled. I assembled a set of wheels with those tires and they are hard to get on and off even without glue!

Sorry about that. I didn't enlarge the picture and at first glance I thought they were the newer super driftech tires. The older style compound wasn't made sperate as you said. To get them off would be a big challenge. I wouldn't know how to go about it.

They easy to get off, just boil the jug and put boiling water in mug and let them sit for about a minute, then carefully pull off rim as rubber soft.

If the do tear you haven' t got them warmer enough, Superglue will fix tears.

Doesn't hurt the rim either.

To be honest keep the Tamiya tyres on as they are drifters, Buy a set of Drift Rings, there alot easier to get off & if they do wear down you've still got the original drift tyre still on to keep Drifting.
