Hello Gents,

This is the 1971 Datsun 240Z Safari Champion car. Build this over the weekend off and on. Finally get to take some out door photo. All the lights are functional including blinkers (still waiting for TL02 lighting kit lol). Painted with Faskolor Black and Red with Spaz Stix chrome bumper. I hope you like.

Thank you gentlemen for the engouraging replies. I have RC fever now and I want to build a few more shells.

The goal post bothers me too! :D However, I have so many bodies that I don't think I can trim them and cater to individual shell.

This is the ABC kit. I'm look for another 240Z body and if anyone know where the store have in stock or would like to sell me one, Please let me know!

Thanks again,

Looks sharp - I love the old Z cars.

You should trim those "goal posts," though. :D

Hi Mark,

Yes I love the old Z too! Here's the Z I used to have. a 1972 280Z

Gimme your address- I'm gonna send all my bodies for painting!

Thanks Raynbored, I've very flattered. I have to say I'm still very rusty after my 10 years of absence. I hope I get my groove back and start painting some cockpits.

Hi Ryan,

Yes I sold it. I got married, what do you expect?

ROFL!!!

Bought this shell a while ago off ebay. What is the best paint to use on white ABS plastic and best way to cut the wheel arches out ???

Believe these are the same shells

Hi Rallybaz, Yes its the same car but they are not the same shells. I'm not sure what brand is yours but mine comes in clear lexan and more low profiled.

I found that using curve sissors the best. All my car bodies are cut that way and I have no problem with straight or curve line. Some people perfer using knife to score and snap. Either way are good. the trick is doing it slow. :)

I just sold him a 240Z for less than that, Ebay is over priced when it comes to ABC,Chevron, and North Craft.

Hi Ivan,

Thank you for your speedy service and friendly reply. Yes I agree you have the best price on ABC, Chevron, and NC!

Very nice! If not for the body post, it looks real. Good job!

Have to agree with 4wdmt...the paint job, lights, cockpit all very nice. If only those goal posts could some how disappear.

Those Datsun 240Z (not the 260 or 280) brings back memories from my High School days :) . The Z, in my view, was one of the few good looking cars in those days when you compare it to the Pinto, Pacer, Civic, Mustang...Kind of wondered what happened to car designers during the gas shortage years. :D

Totally agree with that comment :D

- By the way, Ivan, My Audi shell arrived ok and is now all painted and stickered up - sitting on the shelf behind me waiting for me to put it on a chassis and photograph it !

Can I post a link to a gallery on another forum, or is that not allowed ?
