brass and aluminum will not solder together. this is actually a pretty good idea if you could get the mount rigid enough. this waqy you make a strut tower brace and body mount all in one.

Interesting... I was thinking along the same lines a while ago, but I was going to use aluminum tubing and tap the ends for screws instead of using body clips. It seems like I so rarely remove the LB's body that it would be more secure with screws, and look cleaner, too.

Its the inside of one of those electrical connectors pictured.

It may be a little neater to use the body of a small slide bolt for the bracket instead, you know, the things you use to lock a bathroom/cupbard door etc.
