Not sure if this fits into the "tub" style chassis you have in mind but I have a few aluminum plates in my Lunchbox from different stress fractures and cracks . Though I must addmit that it is my first ever "hobby" class RC that I got for my birthday a LONG time ago . Its definately seen its fair share of use and with all the home made mods and aluminum plates to fix the cracks its allmost impossibole to tell that its a Lunchbox ....

Personally I have never had, seen or heard of a cracked Tamiya tub chassis...I think that they are pretty much indestructable.

The only way I could imagine one being damaged is if were run over by a Land Rover/Jeep/Tank [:D]....and that would hardly qualify as normal use!!

Wild One chassis tub seem to have been broken quite often, I regularly see cars on Ebay with cracked chassis.

I've had some time to think about it, and I remember having broken a Thundershot chassis, where the holes where you put the screws that secure the gearbox go in, and Boomerang chassis - same place.

Broken a Grasshopper chassis where the bumper mounts.

I think I went through quite a few chassis for the Madcap also.

While not really a tub chassis I once broke my TL01 chassis. The whole front broke off and the front gears SPILLED OUT of the chassis. Quite amazing considering these cars are like tanks.

Oh yes, how could I forget the Clodbuster!!!

Mine broke a number of times where the suspension arms attached (detached)....a VERY, VERY disappointing car [V] In the end I swapped it for a Mud Blaster....that lovely strong Froggy chassis never broke [:D]

Not true, I successfully broke a number of them, they would break just where the rear body mounts bolt onto the chassis. Just the little angled bit that the bodymounts bolt to would snap off.

One of my relatives broke his TA04-R tub completely in half when he lost control and hit a slanted curb/ramp, sent the car flying through the air and smacked the bottom very hard off a rock also broke his motor's magnets and then his esc caught on fire because of heat build up and burnt his body up. [8)] i felt really bad for him. By far the worst R/C car wreck i have ever seen
