Tamiya big rig trailer length?????

Ok so I’m going to start a major rebuild of some of my Rig’s but I’m wondering what length the trailer should be?

I believe the full-size 1/1 Most [uK] trailers are 45 ft = 13.716 m so a coupled tractor unit and trailer will have a combined length between 50 ft = 15.24 m > 55 ft = 16.764 m

Anyone know if this is the same for the [uS]

So since the Tamiya one is 1/14 that should make the Box trailer 38” = 97cm which is about 4” longer than it currently is

So is it worth adding a bit more to or is it just a waste of time and effort or will it hardly be noticeable?

Thanks

In advance

Per Popular Mechanics May 2006 issue....States HWY. the max length for a trailer is 76ft, 16ft in width and 12ft high. I guess anything less is find so long as it look scale to your tractor.

To me the Tamiya Box trailer seems to look right.

It seems like an awful lot of effort for not much reward, and lets face it- we like people to notice how much time and effort would go into our modifications!

Suppose your right

I think with the flatbed being off scale I had got the idea in my head that the box trailer was out too but just had a look at the Wedico trailers and the scale size works out at almost the same so I maybe leave that idea.

I was planning on stripping the box, replacing the sides and roof with flat alloy sheet of even just thick ABS and giving it euro style side skirts to give it a nice clean look B)
