hey guys, i'm in south yorkshire too!, sheffield. i'm new to r/c but would be up for a car park meet sometime...

we could chalk out a course if the car park doesn't offer much.

i've got a FF-01 golf and a TT-01 coming in the post soon, just about to order some drift wheels for it. ;)

buisness estates are usually good on sundays for car free carparks.

though i'm busy for the next few weekends...

some dry weather would be nice too.

meadowhell has loads of covered car park, but it usually badword on sundays... i'll scope it out when i get a free minute. ;)

A night meeting would be good when all the Range Rover-driving tarts have finished their shopping spree with husband's credit card!

Meadowhall 2-storey car parks have the lights on all night as far as i know, so could be fun, and its all concrete ground i think, so might get some nice concrete dust flying up :-)

Though personally i would prefer an offroad meeting.

Cant really think of anywhere else really to run the car onroad, other than meadowhall. Thats about the best place.

so,

meadowhall car park

sunday the 27th

1800hrs

car park bash, drift, whatever floats your boat. it is smooth concrete tho. (sorry off-road fans)

any takers?

if we agree on a date, time and place. we can arrange where to meet etc... (i.e. what colour zone of meadowhell's massive car park)

i'll be bringing my stock FF-01, and my soon to arrive TT-01 drift car. not had a go at drifting yet, not had my other r/c car long either. (i'll be the one looking confused, crusing his car, and generally crashing into everything.

I guess i could make it for the 27th, depends when the next mini meeting is in Sherburn, will be a rush to get all batts charged for following night...

whats the idea then, just a general bash round or mark a track out somehow?

I dont wana turn up and there just be chaos, we need something organised so frequencies dont clash. Last thing we need is a new member turning up and turning their car on straight away and interfering with another car.

Mini race?

Drift race?

We also need to find out of 6pm is late enough to get a big area to ourselves, dont wana turn up and have no space!

i figured we'd have to check it out when we get there, bring as many crystals as you've got, whatever cars you've got and we'll have some fun.

its not a race meet, but i'm sure we'll be racing each other in some way or form.

maybe make a track out of whats on offer in the car park? or maybe some big chalk?

suggestions welcome.

...and i agreee 1800hrs may be a little early what with the consumers n all. i hope to pop down later today to check it out.

will report back.

If my cars done ill come along.

There are a few good places local.

Just up the road from meadowhall is the arena, they have an overflow car park. Good thing about it is theres no raised curbs splitting it into sections, just nice big open space, lit too i think.

Cars cant get in because its gated and ONLY opened when the arena needs overspill parking. I think ive seen it used twice in the last year!

Also, out the back of meadowhall is a small (good for r/c) BMX track. Looks perfect but not tried it yet. Looks rubish for bmx but good for us.

Theres also a similar track about 20 mins away but its in s chools grounds and you might not be able to get access.

here ya go, darnall car park.

We'd be totally left along too.

Canal next to it for a bit of boat action (not that i have one)

Cant remember if its always lit or not, i used to take my 1/5 bike there.

Couldnt find the bmx track on google earth, it doesnt show up very well.
