You put hex onto the axle with the big end of the center boar facing in towards the car. Then you put the wheel onto the hex. Then hold the wheel steady as you tighten the flange nut. That's it! The "pressing" action of the flange nut will hold the wheel steady...

To stop the axle rotating as you tighten it up stick a flat bladed screwdriver into the slot in the drive cup, otherwise the axle will just rotate. If they don't tighten up then they are worn and need replacing with new hexes.

cheers chaps. i did try tightning on to it but only with the tamiya wheel brace. think ill get a ratchet on it then.

You should be able to tighten them up with the small box spanner. If you can't they are worn out and want replacing.
