Public Liability insurance Do you have any?

Years ago when I few RC aircraft I used to have a basic insurance so if I had an accident and did damage at least I wouldn’t get stung.

My question is does anyone bother with insurance for just normal bashing after all if a nitro car or even a good electric car went off at high speed it could cause a fair bit of damage and if a RC car hit a small child it could be horrendous.

i think if you are running in a place with small children you are asking for trouble

accidents do happen although i think this is a bit OTT for normal use, however dont you have too if running models over a certain scale (maybe this is just flight models tho?)

I'm not sure about in the UK, but in the US your homeowners or renters insurance policy will cover you if you were to injure someone or someone else's property while flying your model or driving it on the road.

AMA has some additional insurance for model fliers, as does ROAR for drivers but none of it kicks in until after your homeowners/renters policy runs out, both are a bit of a waste if you ask me but a lot of places around here require either one if you want to fly or drive at their facilities as it is a CYA thing for the owner of the property.

RC models tend to attract people, with cars I don't mind so much as long as they are somewhat of a distance that protects their feet/ankle and my RC car from colliding. but with my helicopter it really bugs me when parents don't keep their kids away from the model even after I let them know how dangerous it is. I usually end up calling it a day and packing up, which I hate doing.
