A question for the forum--

I have some Christmas money burning a hole in my pocket and want to get my Blackfoot back in running condition.

I have the trackmaster beltdrive (with thorp dogbones) and a Novak 610-rev speed control. How much motor can I/should I go with.

I just picked up a Tamiya sport-tuned to throw in to get it actually moving. The trinity monster stock I had in it 20 years ago is pretty glitchy right now. I picked up brushes and new springs for it, but don't know if I should stay with it, the sport tuned, or go hotter. I also think I may need another capacitor for the trinity--I have two on there now, but I think it originally had 3.

I just want to have fun bashing it around with my son. It was fun to get it out of the basement start working on it again.

I also have found some cheap batteries if anyone is interested, my local Toys'r'us is clearing out some 7.2V 1600 packs (and 4 hr charger) for under 5 dollars.

Lastly, I found some old RC Car Actions in the basement too, is there a market for these? Or is there a place one here or elsewhere where I can post scans if anyone wants them (I found 3 issues so far--one from 89, one from 90, and one from 91).

Just wanted to thank everyone one the forum for all the info that goes back and forth. I will post some picks of the 'foot when I get it running.

One more thing---

I am looking for an aftermarket front shock tower, I don't have the front bumper and the shock tower is feeling a little shaky (getting rid of the electronics cover 20 years ago didn't help either)

You can order the stock cover for a King Blackfoot here if you want.http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=9005350 I was thinking of making some aftermarket one and will let you know.

Old Skool is right, just pickup a King/Super Blackfoot B-tree and replace the original aluminum MSC mount with the new plastic B1 part, and replace the missing servo cover with the new B10 part, because the King/Super Blackfoot servo cover bolts to both the shock tower and the MSC mount it act as a brace for the shock tower. (you will also need five 3x8mm screws)

Also check there is no damage to the H1 part at the very front of the chassis as the shock tower also bolts to this, if it damage just pick a Frog/Brat re-release H-Tree and replace it (means taking the whole chassis apart).

The front bumper on the orginal black foot is the same as the Lunch box, you should be able to pick up a Re-release lunchbox bumper easy enough.

I've got a JG shock tower laying around at home I think, but they don't look as good as the stock shock tower does.

I wonder if your Son thinks that it is a much better detailed and nicer looking model than all the vague looking rubbish that we have around today ? If so, tell him he has exceptionally good taste :P It would be wonderful to get some of the younger ones interested in scale R/C modelling.

Cheers,

My son is only 3 1/2, so anything r/c is cool to him now haha.

I need to get some CRP parts I think. Are those HPI wheels on your frog/brat truck? If so, I have the same ones.
