Quincey Has Been Robbed!

Early this morning Quincey's garage was broken into and 3, shall i call them individuals for forum purposes, got away with his HPI Baja (he has the serial number and it recently had its HPI Steering servo replaced with a non HPI item along with non standard wheels) and a TLT modified to a crawler with some very distinguishing modifications (main identifying features are a orange and silver Bronco shell and a chassis with some carbon bits on) was stolen. Ade was able to chase them for a while but they were on bikes.. this has been reported to the Police and lets hope they are stupid enough to take them into his Model Shop to sell them but if anyone hears of these cars turn up for sale (longshot I know) please contact either Quincey, EA Models (TC Supporter) or myself.

Man, what an ******** I'm sure they don't even know how to drive rc-cars, they just steal it to steal something. Unbelievable, That's also why al my cars are staying in my sleepingroom.

At least Ade has the advantage of them being modified, so easily identifiable if they do turn up.

I did have a mate have his r/c car stolen. having modified parts on it helped it to be identified when it turned up at a local model shop for repair as it didn't work. The toerag had stolen a car with a 40mhz receiver, and a 27mhz transmitter

The Baja pretty much looks like any other apart from silver wheels.. the TLT he has no pics of at the moment, BUT I video'd it last week so just got to get to a PC that works (cant download onto the laptop)

Scum makes me angry... Keep a close eye on ebay- even to the point of making "HPI Baja-Used" a favorite search then ebay mail you pictures of the latest listings...

Would be interested how your contents insurance holds up, I often worry about the cover of my toys

My workshop was broken into in june last year (while i was on my honeymoon!) they stole all my tools, my van and emptied my office which included 2 nib beetles, a nib touareg and my half painted 350 body!

The police never found anyone, although they did find my van in a threshers shop window in st helens! (it was written off)

If youve never been robbed - its a horrible feeling - the worst bit is thinking people have gone through all your things - they even used my toilet

What I wish to write will most likely get me chucked off this forum so I shall refrain from saying that I hope they come up and will keep an eye out.

I wouldnt bet against them turning up for parts at "there local modelshop" having tried to fill it up with diesel or something stupid.

Rich - If you could get that up it would be very useful just so we know what to keep an eye out for.

My condolancies to the guy, in the history of my BMXing and MTBing I had 3 bikes in all stolen on 3 seperate occassions. It is a very sad thing indeed, my thoughts go out to you.

Touch wood, never been robbed. But i can imagine the feeling of someone else going through your things and not so much of the value taken but the invasion of privacy.

It was mentioned the thiefs got away on bikes, meaning motor bikes or bicycles? If bicycles, likely locals and the police probably has an idea who these individuals are. If motor bikes, license plates #?

Also the toilet was used...DNA samples, finger prints...I guess the crime was not enough for the police to bring out the CSI team.

Hope for a quick recovery of stolen items.

Here in NZ the law requires anyone who deals in second-hand goods to get some ID and address details of individuals who they buy stuff from. The hobby shop had these details and the guy was nabbed. Turns out he lived only 100m away from my factory where he stole them from! (I can see his house from my office window).

I only got two of the three cars back, but that's better than nothing.
