Following my last post in this forum about my vintage RC10 gearbox, I've now downloaded the approprate manual for my car (an original RC10 gold tub) and have identified most of the parts I'll need for my runner-resto. However I don't know where best to hunt for the parts I'll need.

Ebay doesn't seem to have tracked anything down and the part numbers in the manual seem a bit vague.

Any advice is muchly appreciated - where do you RC10 fans find your vintage parts?

Two options, Tower hobbies and ebay.

Ebay always has loads of RC10 spares, just make sure you do a worldwide search as ebay.co.uk doesn't search ebay.com by default. Just done a quick ebay search for RC10 and it's thrown up 380 results.

Tower Hobbies still carry plenty of RC10 spares, as long as you are happy with the plastic parts being moulded in the newer black plastic instead of white. Put the part numbers in the search, or just search for RC10 to start with and browse from there. Tower are also stocking the bodies for it again now Associated have started production with new patterns.

I'll dig out my RC10 manual later and try to find the part numbers for the bits I need. Tower Hobbies are very good and their shipping to UK is reasonable, I have bought three parts orders from them recently, two have arrived, still waiting on the third.

I have found a bunch of stuff on their site but not sure which part numbers I'm looking for, I can't find some things like the original RC10 diff...

considering that the original RC10 is over 20 years old, any parts easily available is a blessing. you might try asking some of the guys over on RC10talk.com if they have any spare parts.

Towerhobbies is a great source. I don't mind not using white parts as I'm trying to build as cheaply as possible. B) Mostly because I won't feel so bad if I break something. Breaking vintage white parts would make me sick. :(

Most of my parts aren't in great condition anyway, I was going to die my parts black to match the project it'll be used for. The chassis tub isn't in great condition so I'm not at all worried about taking the Dremel to it, either :)
