This is my first post so hello all. Just getting into the world of tamiya and am looking at swapping the stock 540 motor in my TT-01 Focus for a tamiya Type-S Super Stock Motor. I`ve ballraced it and changed the prop shaft, just want a little more power for tyre shredding. I still plan on using the FET Speed Controller TEU-101BK, understand it takes down to a 23 turn motor. Just wondered if anyone`s used the Type-s motor and if it will run alright whit the ESC.

Thanks for any help.

So if I choose to upgrade the ESC, what would you recommend? Still want to use the Type-s motor. Dazmeister mentioned using a 27 turn BRCA motor. Is this a better route?

Hello and welcome to the club!

A good motor to recommend is the Tamiya Super Modified 11t, its easy to dissasemble and makes my tt01 Skyline fly, also have a look at Nosram ESC's as they do a whole range. Mine cost £35 from my local shop and its great, it handles any motor, regardless of turn and is quick and easy to set up. It comes with heat sink built in so it keeps cool!!

Hope this is of some help.

the tamiya 11t can cost you a lot of money...maybe you can check some other manufacturers for the motor. I have a 23 turns dyna run racing stock motor in my ta04 and it goes nice but it can give a complete other effect in a tt01 of course...ta04 is belt drive and I use 0.4 module gears.

the only negative thing about the motor is that you can't open it.

oh, and welcome here of course [:)]
