hi

heres my dual hunter dual battery chassis for those interested.

not finished yet,but added so far tmaxx shocks, alloy gpm shock towers, dammann chassis, bearings.

pics were to large to upload so there in the link below

http://aolpictures.aol.co.uk/galleries/mxr2006/

had to use the esc /roll bar,and chassis spacers as battery holders as only one set was supplied in standard kit.

to follow 550 motors ,20t pinions ,hpi esav esc ,poss trial fitting of 600 motors.

For a minute there I thought you were cussing at the truck build!

Lovely chassis; I think the double-decker battery holder are great.

haha.it took a while,but i eventually got it.

the evx2 was first choice but very expensive, even on ebay.

the hpi dual motor/dual battery esc is only 40 quid new on modelsport.

but i did a deal with someone on this site, and got a king blackfoot and hpi esc for 40 quid.bargin.

the chassis came from germany.

i found out from a dagger forum about dammann then googled him and got an email addy.

i then contacted him and took a punt, and paid him.he sends out a pdf of what he makes, with prices.

really nice guy and goods arrived as promised.

its 89 euros payed through paypal

or 85 euros for bank transfer

his email is m-dammann@web.de

right fitted wheels and reciever and esc.wheels are temperary till i get my new ones.

my battery holders are not long enough so i will have to turn some up from alloy on monday, when i go to work.ive lengthened them for now though.

the 600 can motors definitly fit the dammann chassis.dont know about the standard chassis, but would have thought so.

just got to solder up some wires on the motors, turn up some battery posts, fit new wheels, and spray up the body.

Very nice. I've just bought a 2nd hand WD chassis from another TCer to begin the conversion of my Blackfoot Extreme to 4wd; then I'll be thinking about a dual-battery conversion with the bargain-priced HPI ESC too. That chassis is rather tasty, but I'm not sure if I might go the cheapskate route to begin with and use a stock chassis with battery tape ;)

Do you know what turn limit the HPI ESC is when running twin batteries? The standard HPI 550 motors are 27 turns, I believe, but I'm not very experienced at HPI stuff.

Top job on the thread so far - keep us posted :)

ive reached the upload limit ,so a few more pics in here

wow the Machette chassis kit is nice.

thanks for the link as it now gives me a better idea on how to make better battery holders.

im pretty sure the hpi esc limit is 2 23turns,but most 540's cant take 14.4v.for long.but the 550's and esc can take 16.8 or 7 cell packs.

the 600's can take 14.4v too and are cheap

from here (600)

http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bin/item..._3-24_VDC_.html

the 550 motors are 5.99 i think from modelsport.

i may be selling one of my hpi esc's as ive just bought a warrior brushless esc for my esav.if you want it let me know mad ax.

oh i forgot to say the 550's from the tmaxx(traxxas) and esavage (hpi) are rated at 23 turns

and the esc runs 14.4volts standard(2x7cell packs)

Are the HPI Escs waterproof or not? Just wondering as after blowing up the standard EVX a few times I want something that doesn't mind water and mud. If you are selling then I might also be interested.

No, they are not. The new Traxxas EVX-2 two included in the new E-Maxx is waterproof.

They sell on ebay for between $80 - $120 bucks right now.
