Dont think I've ever seen a new built Scorcher or Bruiser go for that amount of money, so with the release of modern day 3-speeds is the Avante now the ultimate Tamiya to have?

Pretty sure I've seen mint, new-built Sand Scorchers go for more than US$2000. (Which would make sense given that NIB SSs are roughly $1000 more expensive than NIB Avantes). And the 3 Speeds are still dearer (on average) than Sand Scorchers. So the really old-vintage cars still have a big lead over pricey late-vintages like the Avante.

Also, maybe to be considered the 'ultimate' Tamiya, an R/C car should be more realistic-looking? (given Tamiya's history of scale realism)....

cheers,

H.
