Well the title says it all has anyone tried making their own stickers with the inkjet printer paper?

If so was it worth it and what sort of stuff did you use as there is load on e-bay

Or would I be best finding a specialist to print them for me?

I have printed my own decals using an ink jet,but these are no where near perfessional. I used them to make ones that i knew nobody would ever make.

I have printed them on white sticky backed paper, and clear plastic. They smear if you touch them to early and there is some careful planning involved.

All the decals on my Porsche are printed on a ink jet. Simple and only cost a bit for the paper. Looks OK from far away.

I have just purchase a few sheets of clear water-slide decal paper that I'm going to use to make black decals to go on my white blackfoot project. I'm not going to run it so I don't mind if they're a bit brittle, but I hope the quality is good. These are going to be custom personal decals for a very personal project.

I will document my progress as I go and will update maybe with a "How To" once I've finished.

Incidentally, I am using laser water-slide paper in a colour wax printer, as the inkjet water-slides need to be sealed with a varnish after printing because the ink isn't waterproof. I hope the wax print is as waterproof as its laser-toner cousins <_<

I used vinyl stickers for this build up of my Porsche 911GT2.

- Researched all 1995 Le Mans images fo this particular Porsche entry.

- I recreated all the sponsor logos in Adobe Illustrator.

- Sent file to graphics sign shop

- Painted the whole body

- Applied stickers (ok I cheated and used some from Carson Modellsport sheets)

It was amazing the detail that the vinyl cutter could hold.

Ive made some myself.

I found all the images i needed online.

I then sent them to a friend who resized them for me cos im stupid :(

He also reversed them.

I then printed them onto clear label sheet with inkjet compatable sheet bought from either ebay or pc world, cant remember now.

Stuck them to the inside of the shell, backed any bits i wanted white with a brush then painted the body as normal.

Came out pretty good, only problem is the sticky label sheet wasnt as flexible as i would have liked.

this was the finished result.

To do the pinstripe i cat thin strips of electrical tape and used them as masking.

The pic isnt too great, makes everything look pixlated, the decals came out good.
