I was bored today, and I still didn't know what paint scheme I wanted for my scorcher... So I made the following template:

scorcher-template-png.png

As you probably see, I made some adjustments to the shape of the scorcher... (rear cage is shorter, no mirrors, open sunroof, no doorhandles, no nose cone, shortened rear body, shorter wheel arches and added lights on the top of the car). This is how I plan my scorcher to look. So now I am asking you to give me advice what colours, sponsors etc. it should have... And feel free to fill it in yourself and submit it

My own quick fill-in for a scorcher. Big american-ish numbers on the side, and simple lines. And pink? yes, pink... :) Sponsor stickers should be put in the black horizontal bar and/or behind and above the front wheelarches. I doubt though that I can do this... Never painted a hard body, And only tried a two-tone paint job once... But well, should be interesting.. Somehow sand scorchers should be at least two-tone in my opinion... ^^

You can do that paint job! Just go down to your local art supply store and ask for some frisket. It's a very lightly adhesive masking paper that's used for airbrushing. It is easy to deal with and can be placed and lifted many times till you have it positioned just so. Shouldn't be more than a few dollars for a good supply.

Good luck and let's see some pics of the finished product!

Please do not cut anything off of an original ss body. In that case I maybe want to buy that body from you, or trade it for something.

Your paint scheme looks pretty 70's look good

I haven't got a body yet, so that isn't a problem. I also think it would be cheaper to buy a repro or a blitzer/monster beetle body. But somehow it is a bit too empty... If there are any more suggestions for a colour scheme, id like to hear :)

(a bit off-topic, but something I do need to know): What material is the body? (cause I heard the front body hole is off by a few mm and needs to be filled, and I have to redrill one)?

Well, that is if you buy an original blitzer beetle body. They're from ABS, But when you buy a kamtec one you don't have to replace the hole. But you can just drill where needed, as there are no holes in it yet.

I didn't know they made them... Anyway... are there (beside the nose cone as far as I could read on the site) other differences compated to the original body? (Thickness of the ABS for example)...?

Anyway, ill make another design in a minute :) not satisfied with the pink one I have now...
