Dcc's Build Thread :-)

Recommended Posts

Well there's a couple of builds going on Ryan's and Blaketron's so i thought i'd post mine too!

Started with a Hi-lift chassis and set about aging it alot!!

Using Rustall from the states, a four part system easy peasy an idiot could do it, (oh i did)

It aint shiny anymore!

Cant do anymore yet waiting for parts shells/wheels/plastic/etc.

Ryan's is semi conservative no holes barred on this one.

more to come very soon.

Stay Tuned

Right couple of progress shots while Ryan's not looking (ssh dont tell him i'm supposed to be working on his projects)

Got a shell from Paul (nokemyster) for not alot of money.

loads of paint on it but no match for my floor stripper!

then promptly cut it in half and set about the foam and filler flares.

Getting there.

The Chassis is a Hi-lift one i had Spare got it in a trade with gr2fltp.

And you'll need Two Blackfoot Shells as the Standard one is way too short.

Got BIG plans for this one, but it wont be done overnight, got to get my brain round the hardest bit yet.........

Driver should be in the post today and only one person knows what She Looks Like?

More Pics I promise.

how will you get rid of the rear door handles? please post pics of the how to.

Infernox it's easy to do

Get a Stanley Blade and carefully cut Flush with the rest of the panel.

Then a Quick Skim of filler to fill two holes above and below.

also filling the old door gaps on just that panel and sand flush the Door Lock.

post-18200-1202370415.jpg

Bit of sanding and a little carefull trimming and you'll have a flush smooth panel that looked like it was there all the time.

That's my next job along with the arch extensions, just to bring the shell out a touch. The Blackfoot isn't the widest body and it needs a liitle to cover the wheels.

Then it's on to the Half Doors and Full Cage!!!............

how will you do the cage?

With great Difficulty :-)

depends what metal i can get so it will either be Brazed/welded or Screwed Together.

Not sure yet got to have a chat with my friend the welder to see what he prefers.

If yours turns out better I'm gonna get all upset :) Then get you to build another :D

Well if you like this one better you can buy it off me when it's done.

Seriously, i'm never going to run it so make me a sensible offer?

Or a very good trade.....
