The blue paint is grey and it was just tamiya acrylic i had lying around.

I think that the blue you could see was the colour of the foam i used for the arches.

So your my biggest fan? don't tell ryan!!

I come all the way here to see some painted pics and there is nothing here! hurry up....

Here are then, only one there not coming out well indoors and it's dark outside.

It's a sort of Mattblack, pearly flip flop job.

Got some rust and damage to do yet but you'll get the idea.

And before someone (ryan) asks, The Wheels are narrowed 2.2 thunder tigers. With Hi-lift tyres yes 1.9's do fit on 2.2 rims.

Hurts your fingers mind!

I'm not painting yours. No I'm not :-)

As for interior how does Front buckets, full dash, instruments, stereo, the works.

Rear Seats, all the trimmings and the dolly driving..

Don't know whether anyone has noticed but the motors under the hood! to make all this possible.

Couple of pics of ryans datsun didn't want to start another thread!!

It's not great but it aint bad, LMK Ryan if i'm way off the mark.

I white primed it, then flat blacked it and hoped that ryan's smoke paint would turn it metallic grey.

I think it would have done if i had another can but i haven't so it's slightly darker than i'd of hoped.

Few details to paint on the interior and i'm done.

looking at the glass the body really didn't deserve ton's of time on it.

It's for a runner and we've ll seen ryans driving!!

Can i get on with mine now...

When you've highlighted the 'Datsun' part on the tailgate!

Looks good mate, and It's only a runner as you say. Better than the %$&^ that comes on the TLT!

Any chance of a cheeky bit o' weathering or are you all out of "rust-in-a-pot"?

Thanks for that

Ryan

I was hoping you wouldn't notice that.

I hate lettering Tailgates. with avengeance.

all out of rust in a pot you can get your own trail rash when you crash it!

Why do you hate it? If you think it will look poop then don't worry about it.

After a couple of rolls down a bank it'll look cool anyways

I hate doing lettering cos it always ends up looking wonky.

Anyone got any tips?

The only thing i could do is to sand the paint down to the white primer on the letters so they'll be white.

Will give it ago.

use vinyl sticker. get the same fotn and size and get the invert cut, meaning the letters are not filled in, then use the vynil as a stencil.

thats all i can think of

I know we've decided not to do it now but my thought for the future would be to get a hard 'sponge' and cover it in paint, then press against the tailgate a couple of times, coating all letters all at once, dab a few times, etc.

May turn into a horrific nightmare though!

the last letters i did - i covered the tailgate with a strip of masking tape, carefully cut out the letters then brushed on the colour. looked very good but took forever!

And i bought the paint for mine today - will get it in the post tomorow...

The three speed might be going!

Traxxas Rad 2 Transmission could be going in very soon, won a complete car on the bay for hardly any money.

The Transmission is almost identical to the Stampede alittle smaller too!

Now where's that postie!!!!

post-18200-1203340864.jpg

That will enable decent ground clearance and it also means that new radio gear is not required. (result)

Stay tuned...

Or i'll have another runner. Haven't made my mind up yet? See when it turns up.
