kontemax 1725 Posted October 26, 2022 TA01 and TA02 are eternal. I also have a TA01 Escort Cosworth with many hop ups and a TA02 with Delta body and many hop Ups and the sister, FF02 (FWD) with Alfa 156 Selenia body with Hop Up parts. All my models are not finished and the wish list is very long. Max

The 3Racing one has, in my eyes, the big advantage to be a one piece motor mount. While Tamiya and GPM need 6 screws just to attach the motor to the chassis you only need 4 with the 3racing one Two of the screws that come with the tamiya one are part of the mount itself and only need to be attached once (or not at all if you have an original as they came pre-assembled originally) - you don't need to remove them to remove the motor, so not really the disadvantage you make it out to be. You're right, it's intended to be attached once. As I said before I'm not familiar with the Tamiya part but I had the GMP part in a Dirt Trasher which use the same principle and those screws came loose during driving the car. Even with Loctite. And on this experience I would recommend the single piece motor mount.
rich_f 233 Posted November 4, 2022 Ah ok. In my experience, the quality of GPM parts is often orders of magnitude lower than Tamiya's. I can't speak for the 'assemble yourself' version of the Tamiya motor mount, which appears to be how it comes these days, but the original tamiya-assembled one I have (bought over 20 years ago) has never come loose, and I've used it both on- and off-road. One way to get around the possibility of those screws coming loose is to change them for really long screws so the ends come all the way out and through the other side of the gearbox, where you'd normally put the last 2 screws in to attach it to the car. Then you can use nuts to attach it instead.
Alexei 547 Posted November 11, 2022 i want to get some universal shafts for my TA-02, both front and rear, but can someone confirm which sets i can use, and lengths needed? i have done some research, and supposedly the length for the universals in front is 44mm, with 39mm in the back. im thinking maybe i could use the XV-01 39mm universals (54516) for the rear, and for the front i would go with TRF417 wheel axles (51445), TRF417 cross joints (51444) and 44mm swing shafts (54078). but im not sure what wheel axles to use. the M-Chassis wheel axles (54623) looks like an option instead of TRF417 wheel axles (51445). TurboRSR 356 Posted November 11, 2022 You can buy 54608 for the front, it's an included hop up in the 934 kits.
Alexei 547 Posted November 12, 2022 ok, with that i noticed a difference the the axles i listed first, those isnt going to fit because of different bearing sizes the TA02 uses.
Superluminal 3750 Posted November 12, 2022 Are you using the blue "short" uprights (TA02/TA02SW) or the red "long" type front uprights (TA01/TA02W)? The 934 style universals work with the standard TA02 uprights and bearings
Alexei 547 Posted November 13, 2022 i have the blue uprights included in the kit, but i have plans to change them to black ones from a TA03 just because of looks. after having a look in a TA03 manual, the TA03 uprights should be the same as TA02.
