I have searched, there are tons of threads and dont know which one I should use. Could u guys point me in a good direction. IM going tio try to strip the yellow paint off of the Avante shell.

I recomend Nitro fuel. Brush a small amount and gently scrub the paint away. If the original paint did it's job in the first place and etched the plastic, you may end up with a cloudy finish.

I am also stripping a body right now... It's an awful lot of work... The outside has been painted once, the inside twice... I am using commandant(4) (a sanding/polishing kind of substance (which leaves no scratches btw :( ) It does work, but it also takes a long time, and getting into the corners is quite hard... ;)

There is a, fairly expensive, product called Model Strip . I've used it on a couple of Scalextric shells, and it does work. It's quite thick, and needs to be left wrapped up in a plastic bag for several hours after application. But not sure about RC shells, though I've heard that the Nitro fuel thing works.

Hope this helps. :(

As I said earlier, I used commandant... but maybe you can also use an abrasive that you would usualy use for your sink (might be a faster and much cheaper method than I said before). I would try it on a clean piece of lexan first though (I always keep the cut off pieces from my shells for those things) and see if it doesn't scratch in the lexan... :(
