Im normally not a person who would reply to this just let it go & get on with it, but Im not sure how you can define what Sales/Trades are suitable for the forums? The trade had been on the main page for around 12 hours if i remember right some moderator surely should have picked it up sooner than this

So since this is classed as an accessories does Hop Up parts class as accessories?

This is the e-mail below:

If a hopup is manufactured by Tamiya/Kyosho/HPI etc, specifically for RC use then it's allowed.

If 'scale' parts from kits are sold as seperate items, then they are acceptable - ie Hi Lift Surf Boards, Wild Willy 2 Fire Extinguishers, winches etc.

When non-rc 'toys' are offered for sale purely because they were once fitted to an RC car by someone, then they're not allowed.

The amount of time an item stays on TC is down to when a mod does see it.

At the same time your bike was deleted, so were two diecast quad bikes, supposedly 'ideal for pickups' which were listed mere moments before deletion.

You're more than welcome to advertise in the 'outside world' forums, but unless the parts are either made by Tamiya/Kyosho etc. or are RC specific, then they aren't permitted in the trade section.

The same goes for diecast models of cars, scalextric, lego etc.

This rule goes way back to when cameras were being listed as accessories, to make taking showroom pictures easier

Sorry Twinset if the post came out nasty i was not intending to do that just clear it up, i did have a picture on he ebay add with it attached to the CR-V in my showroom too

I must admit though "This rule goes way back to when cameras were being listed as accessories, to make taking showroom pictures easier" is VERY funny !!!

Wasn't taken nasty fella ;)

It all came about because of some very tenuous links to RC on some trade items, and even laptops etc being offered in exchange for either a NIB SS/Bruiser etc. or 250.

Yours was probably one of the more 'relevant' items, but as explained (I hope) above, it can't be permitted.

Stick it in the 'outside world' now, and reap the benefits of having two posts about it :)

For sale; one fiancee. Paypal accepted, would swap for Bruiser, etc. :)

Seriously at first this made no sense to me, but now I can see why. Thanks Twinset for putting some not-so-obvious rules into perspective, as occaisonally (and again I'm not trying to offend, just speaking my mind) posts/ ads are changed with very little explaination.

No worries

It's not been happening for quite a while actually, but there was a spate of traders offering trades of basically ridiculous items (MP3 players, mobiles etc.) in exchange for RC gear or cash as the original rule was that RC gear must be involved somewhere, but the "or cash" bit really meant their MP3 Player/Mobile was for sale unless someone was daft enough to want to swap a NIB Bruiser :)

That's really why the rule was in place.

For the exlanations, I guess there could be a little more 'wordage'

This bit is manually input;

Tamiya XC CR-V Bike Rack

Please only advertise RC related items.

For scale 'accessories' please use the forums

Thanks

The rest is tickboxes or already generated.

Although judging by the amount of stuff that gets relisted after it's been deleted, Chris may well be one of the first people to have read the notification all the way through!

Everythings one big grey area - we're just colouring it in, black or white, as we go ;)

To be honest your 100% right, to me there would not be anything worse than trawling through ads for trading mobile phones laptops etc.. would really annoy me, i good though how we can discuss these grey area's as adults. Plus on the up side there only RC to buy here!!!

One thing annoys me though, after having my other account Seriesofmoments=life since 2005 i now look like an even more newbie with subscribed in 2007, stupid question but can i pay to have the date of joined in 16/10/2005 08:13:06 changed to my new account?

http://www.tamiyaclub.com/member.asp?id=11802

I know it sound stupid but its really important to me & i don't want to use the old account because transfer of data & the username for the forum & main site are diffrent

I've no idea if that's even possible chap, that'd be one for Chris to answer I'm afraid.

For the moderator rights I have, there's certainly nothing I can change.
