What Rc Would You Like To See Made By Tamiya?

Recommended Posts

As i live outside the box i'd like to see Tamiya build a nice scale Superstox, metal framed all the trimmings

I know You can get a Mardave one sort of and a huge one too.

But something in between would be great, but it would need to be tough as nails!

There is a growing form of that here in New Zealand. Not actual kits, but there are several people who will make up a frame and base plate to which you attach a donor chassis. Most run a TT-01 in some form, but it is largely anything goes within certain rules.

I've joined a local club and am in the process of assembling one myself.

Local club website.

PreWar Racecars like a Mercedes SSKL, a Bentley Blower, a Bugatti 37/57, Alfa Romeo 8c, Railton Napier and so on.

A Subaru Brat on a XC Chassis or TA02 - Ok that can be built easily by my own.

Formula one of 50th and 60th

A Lancia Stratos Rallye car with a hardbody on a TA02 chassis.

And many more

A Moto GP bike would be pretty cool especially if Tamiya produced it.

This would have to be the Toyota HJ60 4wd wagon, an all time classic and and of the most enduring 4wd's ever. Going strong since 1983 and there are still many thousands around all over the planet. Built up with bullbars, winches, suspension lifts, wide tyres, wheel and jerrycan carriers and roofracks, they cut a striking figure on the road and are very much part and parcel of today's 4wd scene. It is a classic!

I would like to see a lowloader for the 1/14 trucks so you could get the tanks on and off.

A tamiya motorbike would also be nice

Please don't shoot me 'cause I know this is not a Tamiya but I would so like Big T to make a highly detailed shell of a Datsun 240Z like this one that HPI now produces. It absolutely would make my RC day. :)

RC4WD have made one, a swb (9.5inch) version of the Trailfinder chassis I believe.

I would like to see a Competition grade 2WD off road racing buggy. A 2WD thats equal to the TRF 501X 4WD.

Definitely, something that would leave the x6 behind!

I really like the Mk2 Ford Escort on M04 chassis idea. Don't think anyone has done a Mk2 body before.

Kamtec do a nice hard body Mk1 Escort with forest flares if you don't mind shortening your M04, use the lexan version for the window glass.

Cortina Mk4 would be nice too, again on M04 chassis. Would love to do a replica of my 1:1.

Also... On the High-Lift chassis:

Toyota Landcruiser trayback 'Aussie' style.

RC4WD have made one, a swb (9.5inch) version of the Trailfinder chassis I believe.

this is just it i,m sure tamiya are missing the boat on this one if a fairly small company like rc4wd can do it why cant tamiya .Wouldn,t take much to either shorten the f350 or fit a solid front axle and laef springs to the cc01. Then they would hvae something to realisticaly compete with rc4wd and the likes who have been gradualy eating away at f350/cr01/cco1 sales for a good while now. Like i said before the possabilitys for scale decent bodys would be almost endless i.e old school ladny, suzuki sj, dihatsu fourtrack, old school toyotas, willys jeep ect ect

Another one has sprung to mind!

A Mitsubishi MRX09!

I had a bit of a google, as you do, but could not find anybody doing even a shell!

Surely Tamiya could get their hands on the rights to it, and surely there would be a few chassis' they could stick it on!

I would have to say a large pickup would be nice, Dodge Ram SRT-10, Pagani Zonda or even a nice low down Koeniggsegg.

I wish they'de reissue some of the earlie RMs or Comp Specials, eg. Porsche 956, Datsun 280ZX, Lola

Also CAN AM/Le Mans series race cars from the 60's ... Porsche 917, Mclaren M8A, Lola T70, Ford GT 40, Ferrari 250LM, Ferrari 330P4, Porsche 936 ... in my opinion really beautiful and iconic cars of the era

Also Wish they'd do the various versions of the M1A1 Abrams, M2 Bradley IFV or M113 tanks for R/C in 1/16 too ...

... dreaming on ...

Did anyone mention a WWII era 'Dragon Wagon' tank transporter? Tamiya already do a 1/35th static. OK, chain drive to the rear axles could be tricky, as well as shaft drive to the front, but what a kit!
