For me the King Cab is the one that gets the least "runtime". Why? Well, its a great car. But actually its to slow in stock setup. I have the fastest gearing and the stock motor. Ive kept the stock motor mainly beacuse the fragile diff. Mine had to be shimmed ALOT to prevent it from slipping. A faster motor and i think it would be a favourite runner in no time.

Mine is probably my TA02 F-150 crawler. It's been run twice - once as a near-stock F-150, and once as a high-lifted scale crawler. I just don't go anywhere to crawl, and when we have meets we're always too busy trying to go as fast as possible, so it gets left behind.

Shame because it came out exactly as I wanted it, I'm very pleased with how how it performs and would love to use it more.

My original hornet i had from when i was 9 years old. (i'm 25 now)

Has sentimental vale so want to keep it alive not dead.

had a lot of use tho and nearly complete apart from the lights :P oh and box.

got myself a re release now so that is the runner!

My King Cabs (1 HI-LUX MR) and the Monster Beetle get no run time, stopped racing them years ago and have not looked back. Bruiser also because the Dual Stick Controller and it is OLD, why break it now!?! Basically all models made before 1993... Anyway I am doing mostly On-Road primarily and a little Off-Road when I have time.

Probably my Pajero on the Dark Impact. Reason I cannot be bothered to fix the diffs when they come loose. and also its just to composed over the rough stuff thats its more fun with the other cars, Plus I dnt want to the dent the shell :L

My boats, cos I re-ignited the car extravaganza by meeting you lot!

lets be honest, u dnt have any runners of the car variety anyway Ryan, What did u bring to reading? and that doesnt include pre sold stuff ;)

Well, I haven't been running anything at all, recently. ;)

But my re-re Hotshot is the least likely to come off the shelf right now. It still has Tamiya plugs; everything else has been converted to Deans. The Lunchbox and Grasshopper are more ready for action, and more fun to bash with anyway.

I presume you mean cars built specifically as runners, in which case I suppose my Hotshot Evolution as the words Hotshot and handling don't seem to go together. That's why most of my runners are Kyoshos. ;)

Well, every time I try to run my High Lift and my Avante MK2 (DF-03), they break! So, I've been trying to run them, but last about 10 minutes before my day is done. I am getting a little ******* off.

twin detonator for me. love the truck, but its slow and a bit top heavy, and way too pretty to push it hard. that's why god [and traxxas] made the e-maxx. certainly not slow, who cares if its top heavy, and it sure ain't pretty. at least anymore....

the td is still a great runner if your willing to be careful and/or don't care if you snap the lights off the roll bar.

Dude, is the Emaxx really that good? Seriously. Cause I am sick and tired of my Tamiya models breaking or running like ****. I am putting in too much work and not getting enough fun.

i love my tamiya's for very different reasons than i love the e-maxx. i don't want to rip on tamiya because they give me way too much pleasure in building, collecting and running.

BUT, when it comes time to just thrash something, my e-maxx comes off the shelf in a hurry. its faster than spit and the newer brushless ones with lipos are just sick and [wrong? right? u choose]. they don't break very easily unless you are just being stupid with them and even if you do break something, the parts are dirt cheap and available at any hobby shop on the planet. jump, roll, crash, tear through mud, run into things and tear the rear bumper to shreds with wheelies and peel loads of rubber off the tires. replace battery with fresh one, and do it all over again. and again. and again.

i've scraped up the body a lot, broken the front and rear bumpers in collisions and twisted the drive axles in two with the stock motors once because the slipper was WAY too tight on hard packed surface. something had to give. cost to repair = $20 or less. big deal

i just don't drive my tamiyas that way because they are too hard to find where i live, and parts are ALL ordered online, frequently from overseas. i love tamiya because they are so unique around here. i only know a few people who have one, and i love to run mine whenever i can. but i do it pretty carefully most of the time and don't go nuts on them [usually]. i barrel rolled my tt-01 by accident once and it stood up to it really well, but i nearly soiled myself when i saw it bouncing across the tarmac like a basketball. of course it had my best shelf queen body on it at the time. naturally. still, only minor damage, but jeez....

i would recommend an e-maxx to anyone who just wants to whale on their rc for a bit. they can take it and its really hard to get overly protective about something that is so commonly available. they are about as elegant as a paving brick, but nearly as durable too. give it a try.

I haven't run any of my cars for a while, but my Falcon currently gets the least runtime (ie, zero), since I haven't repainted the shell yet. Same goes for my TA-02 BMW 318i STW. Awaiting me to fix the bodyshell paint.

When I reach for a runner, it's usually the Fox, Super Shot or Frog for off-road, TA05 or TB-02 for on-road.

;) Had som great laughs reading your answers. Seems like breaking stuff and bad handling is a major part why runners get shelfed more or less. And i agree, with the King Cab if i had more speed and should roll it (not easy with the KC though), it feels like the thin lexan should shred in seconds.

I know, I know! They're on order! By the way; when Is the next bash?

I may have been lucky but I never break mine often at all , and I run and bash all types mostly the real vintage stuff, Falcon, FAV blackfoots, pumpkin, ETC ETC proper bashin no holds barred. If you watch my vids or look at my event pics in my showroom most of them are in mid jump. Tamiyas are sold stock and require a few simple mods to bring them up from a beginners spec. As for my trusty old twin det how on earth do you break one of those ??? I have tried ! ;) I also have a TB02 that has a super mod 11t in it and has been thrashed within a inch of life ( vid up soon)and not even a crack in a wishbone in 4 years. I do buy parts from the internet as even in the UK the parts are not usually in stock at my LHS but it only takes 2 or 3 days to arrive and to be fair most modern tamiya parts are just as cheap as any other brand. You can buy a whole TT01 alloy conversion pack for 60 on the bay ! and most sprues can be had for less than a tenner (20 bucks) delivered. My terra crusher is bigger and more substantial than my emaxx and the alloy upgrade parts are even cheaper than emaxx plastic ones and there are pages of them on flea bay. Rare vintage parts will somtimes be quite pricey as they become rarer but that is to be expected. Dont give up on your tamiya you may have just been unlucky. ;) Keep on bashin!

P.s. the one that gets the least running is my F103lm as I have no where big or flat enough to go a bit crazy with it

sgt barnes you inspire me, truly. that picture of the twin detonator just rocks. i fly my dt-02 like that but have been a little scared to do so with the td. maybe i should try it. i just have visions of the roll bar getting shoved through the lexan body as it comes down wrong side up.

to be fair, part of my paranoia is based on how rare parts support is here in the western US. traxxas, no problem. tamiya? well, get the internet fired up, cause you can't buy it here. of course i get the same scheie when i take take my import 1:1 cars to the mechanic; that's one of them 'forn' jobs ain't it? ya, we don't do them 'uns here.

jeez, you would think i live at the end of the world. of course, the jack-rabbits here outnumber the people by a ratio of approximately 100k:1, so that might be part of it. i was driving down the street in the state capitol last week and nearly collided with a herd of deer running through town, so there is that.... and no, i'm really not kidding, that really happened.

i'm gonna fly my twin detonator when the weather improves. i'm just gonna try it!
