I have two cars that ive been on the virge of buying for years now, but somehow it just doesent happen.

1st: Mini Cooper Monte Carlo XB. I dont know how many years ive been looking at this car. And somehow i never get around to getting it. Its not pricey, and its GREAT looking. But it just doesent happen...

2nd: TT-01 Lancia Delta Finished Shell. Another looker...Cheap, no need to paint or cut body, but every time i have the finger on the BIN, i wait just a bit longer.

I do want a new Hilux or High Lift, but the reason i havent bought any of them is beacuse with radio and all, its going to setting me back a bit. I must get one sooner or later though.

I was in the same boat as you with the Mini monte carlo. It's a great little car but it was never a super priority. Then one day my LHS was having a 4% off going out of business sale so I couldn't refuse.

Oddly enough, an M03 Mini has been on my list of purchases for ages, every time I have no money I become convinced my life would be complete if only I had an M03 Mini, and yet every time I have money, I end up spending it on some more expensive model or on some impulse-bought resto project or whatever. I'm sure I'll own one some day, but I just don't know when.

Similarly, the Calsonic Primera Upgrade Special was a long-time favourite on my list. I had a 1993 Primera 2.0 SLX during one of the most influential periods of my life, and although it was rough as old boots (I paid 100 for it) I loved it to bits - I think I loved that car more than any other car I've owned, including my both my Minis and my Toyota Supra. It simply did everything. It was very fast (for such an unremarkable-looking car), it was very economical for a 2.0 16V, it was extremely comfortable to drive, and rewarding too, it had 5 convenient doors and a huge load space... Plus, because it had so many dents and scratches, I could park it anywhere, and know that it would still be there when I got back.

Jason's Store had a Primera Upgrade for ages, and I always thought "when I've got a bit of spare cash I'll bag it." But when that time came, it had gone. Ebay was devoid of Primeras. Nothing but bashed up runners. Heartbroken, I let fly my dream and spent the money on something else.

And then last week, just browsing ebay, I spotted an NIB Primera in this green land of England. Although I'd already spent loads and already had two NIB kits on their way to me, I just couldn't resist - no other bidders, it was mine!

Still waiting for it to arrive, hope to have it in my greedy mitts next week...

I also like the monte carlo mini, and M chassis is general, but I just don't find the time and money to buy it. And I like kits better than a QD/RTR. But I like so many cars, I just don't know where to start. And if I would have to choose a car that I would buy next, I would just not be the mini... I also like many off-road cars, but I never buy them. Why? I have no decent off-road surface near my home. At least not something that contains something to jump and fun to drive on, and the size of those surfaces are too small. (Yet I want an off-road car... I can travel some kilometres to a good place in the summer.

Thats odd,

The XB Monte Carlo mini is the same for me, great to look at, I don't have a mini but it never seems to be purchased.

Back in Minnesota my LHS had three Lancia 037s sitting on the shelf forever and a day. I kept looking at them, and almost walked up to the register with one twice, but I knew the guys in this shop would haggle over kits that had sat around a while. I thought I'd wait a while and save myself some money. So I waited, and one day I went in and all three were gone. :D

Haha, I just thought it was me that was as indecisive at this hobby lark! First in question was a mountineer. I need to buy one. and then a BIN (From Asia) Volvo lorry/ truck thingy. As they are both fairly pricey I always think of a reason not to when I have the cash and always want one when I'm skint!

for me its the high-lift. i just keeping wanting it but the price tag scares me away and i'd need a new 3 channel radio....

p.s. for those of you jonesing for the monte carlo mini, just buy the finished body shell and put it on a shelf to look at. it really is that pretty and the M-chassis will be around longer than twinkies in a landfill. worst case scenario-you sell it to somebody who wishes they had bought one before they all became discontinued.

To me, it was the Mu. I wanted one, from moment of release. "I will get one, one day".... Said that for probably 3 years... How ever long they were on the market for.... until they weren't :) .

I did get one, about 10 years later!.

Lesson is, I'm afraid: Want it? Buy it.

I just try not to want..... :o

A Ford F-150 stadium/racing truck. I've wanted one for a while and they're pretty cheap off ebay but various other RC car projects keep on coming up that stop me from getting one. Looks like a great little truck and a lot of fun but that new crawler jeep that Tamiya is about to release is going to get my pennies in my next big purchase and then there's new shocks for my TXT, another battery charger, Junfac wheels for my High Lift et etc. I need to win the lottery.

Now theres the dilemma of all the new releases also. I think the Cayenne is a real looker and ive been VERY close to getting it. But the new Toyota crawler seems nice also. It would be something different from what i have. But throw in the Pajero limited release, and the confusion is total. Darn all these choices...Ill probably end up getting non of them.

To make things harder for myself, A LHS had the Gold LB ($99.99) from where I bought my Met Pumpkin for the same price. The Gold LB is gone and I feel incomplete without out it. Same feeling about the XB Monte Carlo that sat FOREVER and now is gone, would have been a fun runner..

I agree with 'akemag', now dilemma creeps in because the Crawler feels like a "MUST GET" because of where I live, I could take it anywhere and have FUN...

I just can't spend money on R/C like I once did due to my quest in Touring Car racing...

Can't see me getting either of them the Cayenne is as ugly as the real thing, at least the Hummer on the same chassis comes with useful wheels and tyres. As for the crawler the only part I'm interested in is the axles, the obscure Toyota body doesn't appeal and 2.2 wheels are too big on anything remotely scale.

The MTW does at least mean that XC chassis will be available again so I might be tempted there, although the body will go straight on ebay.
