my tamiya kit shell does not seem to fit the chassis. the rear wheels are not central in the rear arch, it sits too far back. its the same for the hpi shell i just brought.

does anyone else with a tb have this problem?

Did you measure the wheelbase yet? According to tamiya's data it should have a 259mm wheelbase. And sometimes, body shells can have a slightly off wheelbase of 255-265mm (and take my m chassis for example... I have a Mazda Miata M02M, and when the rear wheel is aligned, the front wheel isn't enough to the front by 2-3mm).

how you put your hingepin spacers makes a big difference on TB02!!

i've tossed all the plastic spacers and use alloy ones, mimicking the EvoIII's wheelbase & settings

which usually means its on the shortest possible wheelbase.

if you're fitting shells exclusively onto TB02 then cut the wells only after you've confirmed the axel centres.

My shells are shared between both EvoIII and TB02... fit ok.

thanks for the replys

my hinge pin spacers are on the ends meaning that its has the shortest wheelbase possible. every things in the right place i checked then manual. i cut the arches at the lines and drilled the posts on the dimples, but i think i should not of drilled them on the dimples.

think im going to cut down my posts so my new shell sits on the floor then mark out the holes

you wouldt know the thickness of the carbon evo3 damper stays would you?

material thickness i think they're 3mm; where they locate the posts should be same as TB02 towers.

But on the CF towers i can screw the rear posts either ahead or behind the tower

which can be useful if the posts are too short in the standard/ahead position.

i find more inaccuracies from trying to cut a body onto used bodyposts (they can be bent unnoticeably),

so i usually trim them only on a car with brandnew bodyposts. i always do the fronts first.

i think i cracked it the dimples on the tamiya shell are wrong for the tb. if i pull the posts back both front and rear line up. so i guess i drilled wrong.

willy chang i just ordered some carbon fibre sheet at 2.6mm thick guess i'll try and make my version of a tb evo

noooo the chassis is wrong! i fitted the gearboxes to a evo3 lower deck and the shell fits like a glove!

the evo suspension block mounting holes are slightly shorter then the 02 by a few mm
