OK, here's my situation. I have a TT01 that I didn't order. I have the option to keep it at a reduced price. If I'm going to keep it, then I'm going to build a custom street van for the shelf.

However, I'm having trouble finding a good van shell. I want something that looks like a Transit (any model) or a US Dodge - like a Lunchbox, only 1:10. Kamtec do a Kyosho Street Van shell, but it's a pretty vague ABS mold and has no windows - I think it would look pretty lame on a shelfer.

If anyone knows of a reasonably detailed lexan or good-quality ABS shell that will fit a touring car chassis, please let me know

I'm not sure of any at all. I always wanted a Mk 1 transit! Would it not be better to get a Lunchbox shell and adapt it yourself?

I would be way too small for a TT01. It would need lengthening and widening - and I'm just not very good at that sort of thing. Plus it would then be way too low for scale (which would probably look quite cool!) and the lights etc. would be too small.

If I had the space and time it might be a fun way to learn, but I don't really want to get involved with it right now - too many other projects and pursuits taking my time

Look and ye shall find!!

Kamtec are the fellas

They do a Mk.2 Transit shell which fits a 205mm chassis CLICK

And a Mk.1 which is listed as a Mk.2 but looks like a Mk.1 to me, this has 'loose' rear arches so the wheelbase is variable(ish) CLICK

I'm liking the look of that Hiace..

May have to get one for myself, I have an old TA-01 chassis that's in need of a body

Sorry to burst your bubble that's for a V12 Mardave, Wheel base is 205mm.

Would never fit on a tt01

The Hiace is looking like the sort of thing I'm after. The Kamtecs just don't look right and painting windows on a shelfer is never going to look as good as a proper lexan shell with proper molded windows

Now, who can supply the Hiace shell to the UK ?

Dinball do ABC shells. Dont look at the rest of his shop though or your Ccard will be in for a beating

I already buy most of my stuff from RCMart, but I couldn't see the Hiace shell there. In fact it's Dinball's fault that I've got the wrong car anyway - there was a rare picking error (I got a 58390, not a 58290). RCMart have been one of my fave suppliers for ages and this is the first mistake they've made in my experience.

Shame there are no UK suppliers of ABC stuff; looks like I'll have to wait for more HK packages

Thinking outside the box...

I believe there was once a toy Barbie van that was loosely modeled on the FWD VW vans (they called them Eurovans over here, but I do'nt know what they were called in Europe). If that were the right size, it might be cool to adapt. I know I've seen other toy vans as well, but that's the one that comes to mind.

If you seriously want it and can find no other options I can go for a wander down to my LHS and get that one to send to you, I can't remember how much it was though...

Looking at the photos of the whole van it looks a bit flat and wide, kind of out of proportion to the real thing, still looks cool though.

Before ABC had a distributor in Australia, I contacted them directly. VERY friendly and helpful, and let me buy direct.

Might be worth a shot.

ABC Hobby will deal directly and will sell individual bodies, but they are at full retail price and they only accept payment by bank transfer.

Bakaguyjean is the best person to deal with and the easiest way of sourcing one, he works for RC Rainbow and their stock list of ABC bodies is here

I have changed jobs and no longer work for Rainbow. I learned alot about about the whole RC sales system here in Japan and have opened my own on line shop here.

Tako Tuning

I deal mainly with M-chassis cars but i can get anything that is made in Japan. Japanese RC makers dont have buy ins so its really easy to get stuff.

ABC is one of my Favorite companies and they allways support the races i go to. ABC sent us some bodies as door prizes for the Real Truck race we had last year. You can see some of the cool bodies that were done up here.

If some shop in the England wants to carry ABC you just have to send an E-mail to them to Suda-san who does all the English E-mails. Prices are fair for dealers. cheaper than Tamiya i believe for wholesale.
