I'm thinking about putting together a cool looking car just for some fun driving on the local track (tarmac). One of the bodies I'm considering is the HKS Altezza so I’m wondering how wide that body is?

One of the cars I would like to put the body on is a F103GT but I'm concerned that the chassis/suspension isn’t wide enough to fill those huge wheel arches.

I raced that body (Carbon version) in the 2001 TCS and it is 190mm. The body does seem wider than other 190 Tamiya because of the bulging wheel wells. For the F103GT you may have to buy Tamiyas RED 1mm spacers for the front axles for a proper look. I am not sure about the rear wheels and how they are bolted on, but if the 103GT uses hex wheels mounts, those Tamiya spacers should work also.

Thanks for the replies.

Nice car Vin but that is some serious offset and I imagine it limits the choice of wheels. I looked at the HPI site and they had some different wheels with that offset but other then HPI it could be difficult to find some wheels,

Tamiya has some Ferrari Enzo/FXX wheels with +4offset

Thanks Acto-Tuned

Yokomo and Speedway Pal make wheels with huge offsets 10mm+, very popular with the drift crowd.

Yokomo makes nice wheels indeed! If you want to keep it all Tamiya, thats possible also!

Tamiya makes some 2 piece rims, which have a massive 10mm offset also! And they also make the same rims with 4mm offset which would look great on the front! It are two piece rims and they made 5 spokes (used on the PIAA Porsche, Supra GT and some Nismos) and mess wheels (used on the Taisan Porsche).

Good luck with your project! Post pictures when finished please.
